Windscreen washers do not work when engine running, switch to just ignition and they work. Headlamp washers work no problem. Any ideas or anyone had the same issue?

I’m having this problem too.

Ignition on and they work, start the engine and they might work once or twice and then stop.

Turn the engine off and then switch ignition on and they work again.

Very strange.

This could be one of the weird problems relating to water ingress of the central junction box

Just a guess though….

A simple solution after all. Took it to my new mechanic and immediately he said the pump was faulty. Replaced the pump and all is well 😊

Usually this or a blocked filter in the water pump. Replacing is normally better as still have to do the work to get to the pump and the part is not expensive.

Excellent news and thanks for the update.👍

Just replaced the pump on mine and all seems to be working now.

Pleased to hear you got it sorted. It was really puzzling and I was convinced couldn't be the pump as working on ignition. Must be another Jaguar quirk.
