The parrot kit was fitted by a dealer it goes behind the radio/cd the wiring is passed through to wherever you want it, mine is fitted in the glovebox . There is a remote control which is then attached to the dashboard to control the unit. The remote control connects to you're phone automatically through bluetooth when you get in the car.Th ipod connects to the lead in the glovebox and is then controlled by the remote unit. The phone can be set up to be voice activated and cuts the music from the ipod when a call is made or received. The parrot kit uses the car speakers but is remote from the radio/cd system.

have you considered a simple fm transmitter tucked away in your armrest for instance, worth a punt for less than a fiver

I tried them in the past, but where I was located (Florida) there were so many local stations could not find a clear channel, but I might give it a try, anyone tried or reccomend an English transmitter unit?

They may work but the quality is very poor just not worth the money most people I know who have tried them including myself put them back in the packet after one use I have two.

Unfortunately the radio transmitters never work very well, hense the reason why they are so cheap, they can,t give them away. Don,t waste your time. Get a Parrot Mki9200 for your Jag it does everthing that your Jag can,t do as the Jag bluetooth setup is rubbish.

different strong opinions hey? my £3,50. fm transmitter runs off the ipod battery for aprox, for 4 hours and good reproduction. the Jaguar blue tooth works faultlessly. why spoil a Jaguar with odd bits of parrots dangling abou. and if you get £200 worth of advantage over an fm transmitter? well!!!

Google Jaguar phone connections and see what phones can be connected to the Jaguar system. My STR is a 2007 which is compatible with an i-phone 4 but not the i-phone 4S Jaguar say that if you connect a non compatable phone to the system it can lock the system. Not my words but Jaguars. My i-phone is a 4S thats why I use a Parrot. FM transmitter units have always been cr@p but I suppose it depends on the quality of sound that you are prepared to put up with.

I am using an i phone 4s through the Jaguar bluetooth with no issues- also using itrip fm transmitter and that is also working fine, It also worked well on my last car (Saab 95) and it also works great in partners Merc and daughters Fiat - perhaps I am just lucky! (going out now for lottery ticket)

Cheap and cheerful solution if you have a cassette player on the dash is one of the adaptors that plugs into the headphone socket from £2.90 0n amazon!
