Hi everyone, just bought my first Jag - XF 3.0D S Prem Luxury - registered in 2010. Delighted with it, but a small niggle that I wonder if anyone can help with. The short Quick Start manual explains how the wing mirrors can be made to tilt down automatically when reverse gear is engaged. However, on my car only the passenger mirror does this and I have found that this is what it says in the large manual. It seems strange that only the passenger mirror tilts and there is obviously a difference of opinion between the 2 manuals. I would like to have both mirrors tilt; does any one know if this is possible?

Hi BryanJ

I went down exactly the same path when I got my XF and came to the conclusion that only the passenger mirror tilts. I have got quite used to it, but perhaps because of the angle that I normally have the driver's mirror set at. I agree that it would be better if both mirrors moved (and the internal mirror for that matter as I had on another luxury car) but I have not found the magic to make it do it.

Queried with dealer and only the passenger side mirror dips!

Yep, only the near side mirror dips for kerbside parking. (Assuming we park facing our rear reflectors at oncoming traffic)

Yes, it is only the passenger mirror that dips when reversing, provided you've switched on the option. Had this on my previous car (BMW) and a great option to save kerbing of the alloys

My xf mirror only dips on the left and doesnt always dip that much.

When in reverse, use the mirror controls for the left mirror to dip it more. It then remembers the setting. When you take it out of reverse mirror will revert to normal.

If you want the drivers mirror to dip, set it at an angle you would like and save it to memory position 2, then when you reverse, select 2nd memory, take it out of reverse, select memory 1 and it will return how it was.
