Hello members

Recommended Posts

I have always loved the look of the S-Type and been looking at them for years trying to find one with all the specifications I wanted, and my waiting has not been in vain.

Today I found her 2005 S-Type 3.0 Auto Radiant Red with full VDP upgrades including cream leather seats with brown piping, Burr walnut dash door capping steering wheel and roof console, Alpine stereo system with 6 disc changer & amplifier,Satellite Navigation system & Television & DVD, factory electric sunroof, factory electric rear sun blind, quick defrost windscreen, electric memory seats, and tons of other toys.

It has 51,000 miles on the clock full service history with all its old mot certificates bills for money spent on it new battery & 2 New tyres last service at 50,000 miles 12 months MOT.

It drives like a dream smooth and quiet there are 1 or 2 little things I need to sort out and would be pleased if any other members have experienced the same problems.

Sometimes after I lock the car there is a beeping from the drivers side wing if I unlock the car  it stops and is okay but sometimes it starts beeping again?

There is an amber light which is not always on but comes and goes showing a picture of an airbag I read online about it flashing 19 times and it could be the spring inside the steering wheel needs cleaning or replacing anyone had this happen to their S-Type.

I hope to be posting regularly on this forum and hope to meet many other Jaguar Owners.

Best Regards to you all

Hi Richard,

Depending where you're uploading them from, you can normally resize them to be a moderate resolution, alternatively you could resize in MS Picture Manager.

Best regards,

Dave

This is the first Jaguar I have owned but everybody that has been driven in has said how nice and smooth the car drives and before this car I had a Jeep Wrangler and anything would feel smooth after that, but in answer to your question no the ride is not harsh at all its silky smooth.

Hi Richard,

I like the sound of that, I'm toying with the idea of buying alternative wheels for my car, with a thought to increase both diameter and width.  Nothing too extreme maybe 18 x 9 or 19 x 9.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Richard, Dave is right the wheels look great, but they are a pig to clean. My mate had a set on his first S-Type and made sure the next one he bought did not have them. He buys his cars new (he is a little better off than me) and specified to the dealership that he did not want those wheels fitted, to be told that they had stopped fitting that type because of complaints about cleaning them. Nevertheless they do look absolutely top notch and worth any difficulty that may be experienced with the cleaning. Your S-Type sounds and looks to be a beauty, enjoy it and I wish you many happy years of Jaguar driving. Good luck and best wishes mate, Geoff.

I think t will take time to clean the wheels but with a small brush it will not be hard work.

Here is an update on the faults I posted earlier about the car after putting through a check up at a Jaguar specialist who connected it to the fault finding computer the airbag fault was due to dirty connections under the steering wheel which had to be removed and cleaned now working okay.

The battery backed up alarm sounder fault was traced to a faulty wire behind the front bumper right hand side where water from filling the washer bottle had got into the wiring and caused the battery to discharge and this was setting of the sounder alarm not the main alarm now has been fixed and seems to be okay

Also the engineers noticed that both the hoses connecting from the engine to the heater inside the car were weeping antifreeze at the bayonet connectors so they put 2 new hoses on for me while under the car. ( they said could have split at any time)

I now hope everything is 100% and can enjoy my new toy
