You'll find a huge range of mixed emotions with owners over tyres. I won't fit anything other than BFGoodriche. My local does the 225/45 18's for between £95 & £100 each. The wet weather grip is simply astonishing. I went to them after owning a Supra 3.0 Turbo and I couldn't get the rear to slip out at all in the wet! Even by dumping the clutch mid- corner! Given that the previous tyres would get it sideways in a straight line in the dry before, I was converted instantly. My last set got me 25k too. As for insurance, I'm 40 with a clean record and full NCB and I pay £208 a year. Swift Cover are excellent and I will be returning to them this year at renewal. Try Go Compare or similar and see what you get. I found Adrian Flux to be quite dear in the past
