Thanks Steve, I'm a Classic Jag inthusiast. 1965 S type classics of which I have a 3.4 and a 3.8. Both being restored by me right now. Also had my XJ6 series 2 for 10 years now. Just love them all.

Ive been on various forums in the past and just having a sniff around to see whats what. picked up an xf 2.7d last friday, 3rd jag, but first diesel, but love the car, simplya quality machine and looking forward to many happy hours motoring. one thing you may be able to help with is by telling me how to change my avatar picture as the current one is a throwback to a football site i was on and not really appropriate for a jaguar site!

Thanks for welcome. I have just recently purchace my x type, After many other make of cars it has taken me 32 yearsto return to Jaguar. My last 1 was in 1982 when I purchaced a 1976 XJ12 5.3. Averaged 10 mpg.

Problem with my x type is black smoke, I see from other members it is a common fault, plenty of info available so hopefully i can get it sorted before I take on holiday to Spain in September, Any other tips would be welcome.
