NEW DISCS and PADS (Front and Rear)
Joe, Many thanks once again. Is the piston wind back tool for the rears of any specific nature for the S Type. Perhaps a photo of yours would show what is necessary. The point about Red Stuff pads is well worth knowing as I do notice a fair bit of dust on the alloys. Many Thanks and Regards, John

NEW DISCS and PADS (Front and Rear)
Would be very interested on views of what you consider the best manufacturer of replacement discs and pads (Front and Rear) for my S Type. Also if anyone has views for or against drilled discs, besides the OE fitment being vented. Many thanks and Regards, John

New clutch slipping
A clutch slipping at anytime is not good news and if so doing it is wearing. I am surprised you have not already contacted the specialist fitters or been back with the car. The sooner you get in touch with them or back to them the better, before they start trying to blame it on you and a driving style. Best Wishes in getting it replaced, Regards, John

jaguar s type catalytic converter
Elliott, I know it is a nuisance getting the wrong specification delivered, but at least they have accepted their mistake and are arranging the correct replacement. Far better than you altering the wiring to the Lambda Sensors. Good luck when you eventually get to do the job. Best Wishes and Regards, John

jaguar s type catalytic converter
Elliott, it is a reasonably straight forward job. The only pointers I could offer are what I imagine you will be well aware of anyway.: make certain you have the correct sized sockets etc., to avoid rounding off. Use a couple of soakings of WD40 and let it soak in before attempting to remove nuts, especially at the manifold. Be sure the joint at the manifold is seated correctly when you fit the new Converter and do not over torque the nuts. Good Luck with the job. Best Wishes and Regards, John

Bought mine in recent months from the link below. They seem to know what they are selling, very helpful and quick delivery. Product good as well. Boot Badge Woes
Jon, This is the link that I was looking at, but I am not even sure of which type/style of badge you are looking for. Picture would be educational if you have one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=Jaguar+X+type+Boot+Badges&_sacat=0 Best Wishes and Good Luck with you searching. Boot Badge Woes
It seems I forgot to put the link in. However if you have already checked Ebay then I am sure the badge I was referring to would not be what you were looking for. Good luck with your search. There are some breakers around who often specialise in Jaguar bits. Perhaps you could search for them and find something. Sorry to have caused confusion. Regards, John

Private number plate advice
Have had a further thought, probably "stretching things a bit", but there was once a Suzuki model imported to GB (small jeep 4x4/semi utility) and it was named Suzuki SJ. A tenuous connection but the SJ`s did become very wanted and collectable, mainly due to their simplicity and durability. A very tenuous connection, but who knows there could be someone looking for a registration number for that model ????? Regards, John

Private number plate advice
Not instantly recognising the importance of SSJ. Recalling the early years of Jaguar there was an SS model, but where the J would come into that I am not aware. The problem was that the Jaguar SS was eventually associated with the !Removed! German war regime and Jaguar had to drop the SS name because of that very matter. As it happens the SS model was a gorgeous looking car and in todays market are worth a fortune. All I could suggest is that you contacted one of the many dealers in registration numbers and seek a valuation from them. A lot of any value could well be, or not be, in the remainder of the Registration Number which, for understandable reasons, you have not quoted. Good luck with your quest and Best Wishes, Regards, John.
