Welcome to everyone, my name is Marlon Gaitán from Nicaragua and I am reviving a Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 in 2000, the car starts, runs and all goes well, but there is a problem, the fuel pressure has to go down with it At the same time, when it starts and takes about 20 minutes of work, the pressure starts to go down on the fuel level until it goes out, it is noticed that the pressure starts to go down when the steam purge management valve starts to increase. for example: the valve has 30% and the fuel pressure drops from 50 or 60 psi to 47 psi and the valve reaches 80%, the pressure drops to 25 or 30 psi, the fuel pump also starts to to work with a modulated work cycle of 75% at a time low to 6% and gradually ascend without stopping until 50% and from there on, just speed up completely, I have a code that always appears and is P1237 and revises all wiring and electrical part of the rear module, f box usibles, relay and fuel pump and everything is good, i hope to help me please i need to revive the jaguar and this is the last problem that i could not fix.
  2. Other than body styling (which is admittedly an important part) is there much difference between 2003 - 2006 XJ 6 and 2005 (facelift) S-Type. Looking at internal views of cars for sale there does not appear to be much difference. Regards, John
  3. Darren When you say 350z, do you mean a Nissan. I have had many Nissans, in my youth, "200sx (s12,S13,S14) as well as Skyline (R33 and R34) GTR`s, all of them upgraded and tuned in various stages. Probably the rarest of all was a Primera eGT. I am assuming the 350z is a V6, what year and colour is she?
  4. Julie Yes the XK was a convertible and was two tone colour ........... red and RUST. It was a real "dog" of a car. Had youth and not much sense on my side . I bought it and ran it for about two weeks and then sold it for a profit of £400, which was a lot of money in them days. The Mk 2 was a much better car in Metallic Dark Blue, Cream leather interior and Chromed Wire Wheels. That lasted a bit longer, If my memory serves me right it was about two months and I had an offer I could not refuse, youth, Dell Boy and the draw of money yet again. Boy do I wish I still had that car. A lot of water under the bridge since then. Happy memories. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, John
  5. Julie, There appears to be a great deal of familiarity here. I to would love an old Jaguar. Had an XK120 and a Mk 2, when I was about 18 (that was 54 years ago). I would love another one of either but, I to, have nowhere to house such wonderful cars. I absolutely love my 2005 (Facelift) S-TYPE and would not want to part with it. It is in really good condition with only 64,000 mls but I do wonder if I can go on, keeping on, spending money to keep abreast of the attention it needs to stay as wonderful as it is. I also do not do a great mileage, have done 2500 miles since April 2021. Having said that, with what I read about the XF, I am not certain that is going to be any financial saving to me. Have had some very nice cars in my time, which fall into the older specification, including Nissan 200`s (S12,S13 and S14). Nissan Skyline R33 and R34 GTR`s. They were all modified and even then were easy to maintain and not over costly to keep together as prize specimens. No good day dreaming, but bless the good old days. Best Wishes and Regards, John

  7. IF I were to consider changing my S-Type for a later model should it be an XF or an XE. I seem to read a vast amount about the XF having many and on going electrical code problems. I would only entertain petrol models. I am surprised that the models have not been improved in reliability since the S-Type, which is a fabulous car to ride in and to drive, but does seem to be challenging with electrics and throwing regular fault codes. For info my S-Type has only done 64,000 mls from new, is really well maintained and the battery is regularly connected to my CTEK MXS 7.0 Your thoughts, advice, recommendations welcomed please.
