  1. Martin, Hope you solve your problem with use of the diagnostic tool. Cheers, John
  2. Thank You, Regards, John
  3. Was the 320 mm front brake disc only fitted to the more powerful V8 engine model S Type, or was it also fitted to the smaller powered models as well. What is and which models were fitted with a Sport Suspension. Many thanks and Regards, John
  4. I use a Foseal OBD 11 reader and find it usually quite adequate to at least identify where the problem is. Also have this for sale on the Forum, if of any interest to you.

  7. Just looked on Euro Parts: "2005 Jaguar S Type 2.5 : Pair Eicher Premium Discs for Front and Rear £80. Pair EBC Grooved and Drilled Front and Rear £417. EBC Red Stuff Pads Front and Rear £133. No Eicher Brake Pads quoted. So cheapest way of doing Front and Rear Disc and Pad change appears to be £213 for parts and Labour depends on who does it of course. Seems reasonable to me. Regards, John

  11. How Do I Know if My Car Battery is Bad? The most common symptoms that come with a bad battery include: Battery light illuminated on the dashboard Engine cranks slowly when starting Vehicle requires frequent jump starts Clicking when you turn the engine Lights are dim Car won’t start What is a Multimeter? A multimeter measures the voltage in your car battery, letting you know how much power is currently stored in the battery. Using a Multimeter to Test a Car Battery Turn the headlights on for two minutes to get rid of any surface charge the battery may have. Set the multimeter to 15-20 volts. Turn the lights off. Connect the multimeter to the positive and negative battery terminals. If you don’t have a voltage of around 12.6 volts, you may have a bad battery. Now start the car, and look for a revised voltage over 10. If your voltage drops below 5 when the car is running, it is bad and should be replaced right away.
  12. Will, S Type is renown for battery discharge. If you are certain the battery is good then it will probably be as has been suggested in previous submission. The battery can be checked with a Multimeter and you can buy very cheap, plug into lighter socket, USB unit that also has a V reader that displays the battery charge. In the long run you would do well to invest in a CTEK battery charger/conditioner to keep your S Type up to the job on battery charge. I have mine on a CTEK MXS 7.0 at least once a month and they are very reliable and viable pieces of equipment. Good Luck, Best Wishes and Regards, John
