Clay bar detailing
Peter, They just didn't like it when I told them a few home truths over my treatment and over charging by them, and said I would get the cars serviced elsewhere at a sensible price. Saying that, all my five transactions with them ( the last two just buying the car) have been paid of instantly by bank transfer. The way I see it, they could do with a few more customers like me ; but apart from the young salesman , all the rest walked by without even a "good morning" . The manager couldn't even be bothered to come out of his office and acknowledge me, which I though was pretty rum as it under their care my Aston Martin got wrecked ATB, Trevor

I am growing a long grey beard at the Petrol Station...slow filling
A long grey beard, what does your husband think of this? Had a look round the only answer I can come up with is ; " The usual problem causing this is a partially stuck canister valve. This will cause an increase in pressure causing that fuel nozzle to cut out. The valve is part of the canister which is located above the rear subframe." Hope you get is sorted shortly ATB, Trevor

Peter, You should get an Ilfracombe address, you would fit in here as most of the peeps are Midlanders and northerners. It is known as Liverpool - On - Sea I'm sure I will enjoy the XK-R. One worrying thing though, the wife has suddenly decided she likes Ferraris ! ATB, Trevor

Peter, Picking up the XK-R on Monday , it looks stunning. You were asking about insurance, it is £343-71 a year , 31p a week more than the XJ Supersport . ATB, Trevor

considering a car change...
Welcome Justin, In the past few years I have had a BMW 335 M Sport,BMW M3, Aston Martin DB9 Volante, Aston Martin DB9 Le Mans, and now have a Jaguar XJ Supersport, the best car I have ever had, also the best car I have ever driven . The expense of running and repair is relative, you don't really buy a Jag ( or any similar car and worry too much about MPG), it also depends on what you compare it with really .Mine has been very reliable, but there again it is only a 2012 plate. Insurance obviously depends on age and no claims bonus . Mine had been the same price as the BMW's and cheaper than the Astons Jaguar have the best customer satisfaction out of all the car manufacturers, drive one, and you will see why. Many people say once you have a Jag, you will never have another make of car, I think this is true, I'm picking up a XK-R on Monday or Tuesday . To sum up, I would get one, you know you want to. ATB, Trevor

Road Tax scammers
Charlie, Picking it up on Monday or Tuesday, the insurance should be about the same as for the XJ Supersport, £325, that is one of the advantages of being one of the nearly dead. ATB, Trevor

Key Fob programming!?
Peter is right. when I had a new key given to me under warranty, I had to take the car to the stealership ( 130 mile round trip), they put it on a machine and then sync it to your car. Haven't got one, but those diagnostic plug in scanners to find fault seem a good investment . Which part of Devon are you from Robin ? picking my XK-R up from the Grange in Exeter on Monday or Tuesday . ATB, Trevor ( Ilfracombe)

Potential XF owner
Welcome to the Club, Richard and Karen, Agree with what Peter says, you will never drive another car after a Jag, I'm getting my second one early next week. Prefer petrol to the devil's fuel, but each to their own. First decided to get a Jag when my Aston Martin DB9 went wrong.I was lent a Jag whilst it was in the garage, It was a 2013 XF 3-0 Litre Premium (devil's fuel) , and I could not believe how good it was ! I said to the wife, "the next car I get will be a Jag" and it was, a XJ Supersport, the best car I have ever driven . Next week i'm getting a 2012 XK-R . I would say, get the XF, you won't regret it ! , there is a reason they have the best customer satisfaction. ATB, Trevor (fellow southerner )
