Buying a used XF plate 16 from car supermarket perhaps
Hi Tim, Any XF of that era is a good buy as long as it has a FSH. We bought a car a couple of years ago (not a Jag) from them and have had absolutely no problems with it. It was well presented and had a good service history. Hope this helps.

Water in the wheel well of a sportbrake!!
Hi, I had the same happen to my 62 plate XF S, the water was so deep I was bailing out for ages. Luckily I suffered no damage. I have a friend who has an F Type and had a similar issue. It affected his electrics and cost him thousands to repair. Jaguar did offer a goodwill payment to help but it was still very costly. Apparently its to do with a design fault in the ducting/venting in the wheel arches and underneath (???). Allegedly JLR are aware but keep it very quite.....

Jaguar service plan XF worth it or not
Tom, I had for many years a service plan for my Jags and swore by them as it spread the costs over the year so did not get a big bill once a year. However, when I changed main dealer I was persuaded to go for Fixed Price Servicing (by the sealer) as it worked out much cheaper for the same thing. I now do the Fixed Price servicing, yes I have a bill in one hit but at less cost. Worth chatting to your main dealer. Hope this helps.

Jaguar Dealer Techs Defeated!
Hi All, My 2016 XJ Portfolio has an issue with the virtual dash displaying the SatNav, in short it doesn’t. The car has been with my local Jaguar dealership for over 2 weeks and they have, today, called to say they can not diagnose the fault and have given up. They have had continuous dialogue with Jaguar for Technical Assistance but to no avail. They are saying that they would need to start changing components with a ‘donor’ car and that will cost thousands...... Does anyone have any suggestions at all?? Many thanks, Clive

Incontrol 3G connectivity
My 2016 XJ has Incontrol and wifi etc. As of the 31 Jul the SIM card stopped being read and now will not connect to any network and displays the crossed out G to denote no mobile network. I am fully paid up and signed in to Jaguar Incontrol and have plenty of Data with EE. I have tried a new SIM card from EE but to no avail. Please help...

XF-S Limited Performance - Error Codes
I had a similar problem with my XF-S a few years ago and it turn out to be a stuck pin in the valve that switches from Low to High pressure turbos. The pin costs about £20 but Jag charges around £250 to change it. It is a known fault. It can be changed by a good garage and I am told by an averagely knowledgeable owner.

Nav Map on instrument display
Hello all, My 2016 XJ Portfolio has an issue with displaying the nav map on the main instrument display despite Map being selected from the menu or display themes. Also, when in normal instrument display the turn info should be displayed in the info section (where info such as radio station is displayed) but when approaching a junction it just goes blank?? I have followed the instructions in all the hand books etc. Can anyone help?

fuse list
There is a fuse panel above the battery compartment. The fuse locations are also listed in the user handbook.

Battery
I guess it depends on the age of the battery. Idle running for an hour each week should be sufficient.

Water in fuel warning message
Hi, I had the same issue with my 62 plate XF a few years ago. I took it into the main dealer and they told me it was just a faulty sensor and the likelihood of water in fuel was extremely remote! The sensor in your car will of course need looking at. Not a solution for you I know but perhaps a little peace of mind. Cheers, Clive

Puddle of water and drip around near side front wheel.
Its just the moisture the aircon extracts from within the car.

Help!
Hi All, My 2012 XF 30d S has BiXenon headlights and the drivers side has condensation inside. My main dealer quoted me almost £1500 for a replacement! Anyone know either how to cure the condensation or get an approved replacement at a reasonable price. Many thanks, Clive Hunt

Reversing Camera Install
Hi, Thanks for this success story. Very interesting and informative as I was of the understanding that you could not add mods as looms were ‘individual’ to each car. Is there a forward facing camera lit do you know? Clive

Sheered wheel nuts
Joe, Very many thanks for the info on the wheel nuts. They look very similar if not the same as on my XF. I have had 2 sheer so far, am I the only one I wonder? No doubt it’s going to cost me a small fortune to have it removed by my Jaguar dealer! Cheers, Clive Hunt

Sheered wheel nuts
Hello All, I have a Jaguar XF S 3.0d (62 plate). I have now had a second wheel nut sheer whilst trying to remove a wheel (one front and one rear). The first was just over a year ago and cost almost £1000 to resolve at my main dealer. The second happened a week ago and is about to go back into the main dealer to be sorted once again. The reason for wheel removal was firstly, a puncture, the second to replace the front brake pads. My fear is that more will sheer in the near future. Is this a common fault? Does anyone know how best to get the sheered nut out/off for cheaper? Many thanks, Clive Hunt
