  1. Welcome to the 2016 Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - with the main venue being Madiera Drive on the Brighton seafront as usual. It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year I have been working on gaining much more industry support than previously, more prizes, freebies, discounts, even specialists on site to chat to.. hopefully ensuring that everyone has a fantastic Jaguar day to remember! There will be a fixed price breakfast laid on for attendees on arrival in Brighton, at a cost of £4.99 for the recommended (two of everything :-)) breakfast, plus drinks at individual prices or £2.60 for unlimited drinks. 2. Just a quick update for you on things.. With 81 Jaguars now signed up we are only 19 from the magic number of 100 vehicles! I am still waiting on some items to come in from two sponsors, but we still have a few weeks yet :-) Our new 'Don't Miss a Thing' texting service is steadily gaining subscribers, which is great. I am still in very early discussions with a charity organisation, hoping we can link our event to them, and not only have a great day out but also support some fantastic charities - as soon as I know more on this I will let you know :-) If you are involved with our event in an organisational way - ie are an industry attendee, sponsor, or part of the team on the day I will be getting in touch with you with more details at the start of May :-) Meanwhile please keep an eye on this thread as we approach the day, as I still have a few things on the go for us :-)

  7. This year (with thanks to PaulJag for the idea) we are implementing a 'Don't miss a thing!' texting service on the day.. I am hoping this will work well for everyone. As you will know from the itinerary, quite a bit is going on, on the day, and it is going to be easy to miss any number of the things going on whilst you are busy chatting, catching up, and getting that solution to any of a number of car issues you may have... I am possibly the worst culprit for this in our previous events lol So this year we are implementing a 'Don't miss a thing' service. If you drop me a line at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk with your name & mobile number for the day, we will ensure you get text reminders just before any events on our day ensuring you don't miss a thing! Its free, and the numbers/names will only be used for reminders on the day - not released to anyone for any other purpose. So why not guarantee you don't miss a thing on the day, with our 'Don't Miss a thing' Texting service :-) ?

Our fifth Brighton event to-date, and the one that sets the bar for next years event :-) I believe (still yet to be confirmed) each car will likely have not one or two but four goodie bags to work through, & a chance at any one of fourteen prizes ranging from money off vouchers, to Goodwood Revival Tickets, to mugs, cleaning kits, workshop manuals and so much more. We have five companies onsite to meet attendees, discounted early morning drinks, fixed price breakfast deal, and to top it all the judged 'Best Turned Out Jag 2016' award to be judged by Tony from Harwoods Jaguar (for his Jaguar knowledge) and Rowan Lill (considered to be an independant judge).... And still I am on the case lol :-)
  10. Hot off the press! Lancaster Insurance, specialists in Classics Insurance are getting involved with our event! Many thanks to them for choosing to get involved with our event :-) More info to follow as soon as I have it :-)
  11. OK guys, a lot is still going on here, with just over seven weeks to go.. Our caterers at Pease Pottage Services & The Madiera Harvester have been updated with our likely figures. I am still trying to progress a possible charity link with our event, which it would be great to have as we continue to develop our event. I am chasing a few last minute possible sponsor or partnership deals for us, & seeing if there are any further deals that can be struck for our 2016 event And finally I am still chasing the last few items from our sponsors, after which I will be able to officially announce what prizes we have on offer for you guys on the day :-)

  20. You may well, quite reasonably, be saying what do I get if I come to this free Jaguar event.. well, if you sign up and attend you will get: A great Jaguar day out A chance to meet and chat with Harwoods Jaguar, Ultimo GT, REVSUK, The Automatic Gearbox Centre, and even the We Love Brighton Team. Discounted Costa drinks at our starting venue, with free goodie bags containing event information, freebies, samples etc To participate in a convoy of up to 100 Jaguars all heading for Madiera Drive in Brighton A fixed price cooked breakfast laid on by The Harvester for the event A chance to look over up to 100 Jaguars spanning 50 years from a 1966 E-Type right through to the latest showroom F-Pace brought along by Harwoods Jaguar The opportunity to catch up in the flesh with everyone you know online, exchange thoughts, ideas, fixes Not one but two free prize draws for some must-have goodies, inc Workshop manuals, vouchers, cleaning kits and more!! A chance at the title of 'Best Turned Out Jag 2016' which is being judged by Harwoods Jaguar and Rowan Lill This is a great Jaguar social event, with plenty of cars to check over, people to meet and learn from, & freebies up for grabs in the free prize draw. You will be joining over 100 other Jaguar fans, from all backgrounds.. some will be collectors, keeping their cars as new, others (like me) will be using their Jaguars on a daily basis working hard just to maintain their Jaguars. The event is free to sign up for, and free to attend.. the only costs being your Costa purchases (noting you have a 20% discount), your fixed price breakfast, your parking and anything else you choose to buy on the day :-) The event receives no financial funding, and depends completely on it's sponsors for all the freebies, samples, prizes, and expertise on-site, for which we are extremely grateful. The more attendees, supporters and sponsors we can get onboard for our event the better the event becomes for all of us. This is truly an event by us, for us so why not sign up for this years event? You never know, once you have attended this year you may well want to make a firm booking for next years event :-) It's even easy to sign up - post on one of our forum threads, our facebook page www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK, our Twitter feed @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet, or even by email JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk. All you need to do is let us know what model and year of Jaguar you will be in, and how many people will be in the car and we will do the rest :-) So go on.. a great event, a great location, suitable for families as well as Petrolheads.. what do you have to lose?

(the only costs being the parking, fixed price breakfast, and any discounted Costa products you buy :-)) Not only all this, it's also so easy to sign up to: Just let us know your model, and year of Jaguar and how many people are likely to be travelling in the car on the day and you will be signed up!! 23. If you know anyone with an unusual or rare Jaguar that might be interested in signing up please put them in touch with us - we would love to have them along on the day :-)
  24. Tomorrow will be the event summary day, with all the latest stats and figures for you as always, but meanwhile I just wanted to let you know I am still busy following up with potential partners/sponsors and will be until a week or so before the day. We have some leads that were quite promising that have become 'the fish that got away' :-( and some others that I didn't think we would have a chance with that seem to be progressing and might yet bear fruit, so please keep an eye on this space as we go :-) We have 8 weeks to go, and I am on the hunt for 24 more Jaguars to complete our target of 100 Jaguars spanning 50 years of production so if you know anyone who has a Jag, and hasn't already signed up please, please encourage them to.. we have a great day planned, with lots of freebies, discounts, specialists onsite, fixed price breakfast by the sea, photo shoots, best turned out Jag and so so much more
  25. Hi Skelly, Just bring some £1 and £2 coins with you - don't worry the meters should be working fine on Madiera Drive.. I will also be using cash on the day rather than the phone app :-) I did check with the Brighton & Hove Parking Team, and the Highway Events Team and there should be 8 meters operating on the day.
