  1. Sounds exciting and the drive down must be something special. How far are you down south. Enjoy the dream
  2. Colin, Paul (Raistin2) kindly posted a pdf of electrical diagrams; http://www.raistlin2...eElectrical.pdf There is an index (Table of Contents)if you locate the parking sensors then you can remove the relevant fuse, alternatively the fuse box may have it written within which of course would be easier and my starting point.
  3. Paul does this mean that when stationery the mirrors return to the closed position? If this is the case then it solves our little dilemma of power mirror modules, I suspect they are controlled by the ECU like the seat etc
  4. I dread to think of the final cost to this transplant John, I just hope it doesn't happen to me. Have anyone else experienced this problem on the V8
  5. I suppose its what your opinion on the device, I believe mine is hidden from normal view but in sight of me being mounted to the right of the steering wheel and midway down the dashboard
  6. Same happened to me last week on a sunny day, now come on I have a 4.2 ltr V8 in the XKR pushing out 430 bhp with the Supercharger, The dual carriageway was on quite a steep incline upwards therefore I played with him accelerating/decelerating etc. Still a little boy at heart. Welcome to The Jaguar Owners Club Gary have fun with your new toy and if there is and questions you need answering then there is always someone on here that will oblige
  7. I just take the garage door open/close remote in the car when I take the car out of the garage, I have a Parrot for my mobile phones that I am more than happy with as they expand on being just a hands free phone bluetooth machine.
  8. I will get it sorted by tomorrow Paul
  9. Do you wish to give these a try Paul; http://www.eurocarparts.com/jaguar-parts.html?gclid=CJv85fWpzcQCFSYHwwodCGYAwQ
  10. Welcome to The Jaguar Owners Club Paul, feel free to ask any questions/queries, most members have encountered the odd problem here or there therefore, someone should have an answer
  11. Welcome to The Jaguar Owners Club Bruce, quite a friendly lot on here who would b happy to answer any questions or queries that you may have.
  12. Paul, the old saying; if you don' ask then, you don't get. However, I do believe Joe as pointed you in the right direction with the breakers yards being a more likely place to find one or even an online breakers yard albeit they tend to rip you off a little.
  13. Happy it all got sorted for you Paul, you may wish to consider my automatic open close relay idea if so then I would be happy to draw up the electrical circuit for the modification.
  14. Odd, works for me Paul
  15. I'm quite sure Old Peter could point you in that direction. I had no problem locating such for the XKR, Good luck Paul. Actually Paul, try this link; http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-0521093335491635&output=html&h=15&slotname=1342465859&adk=3759602940&w=728&lmt=1427453809&flash=0&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jaguarownersclub.com%2Fforums%2Fforum%2F6-jaguar-s-type-club%2F&dt=1427453809111&bpp=12&shv=r20150324&cbv=r20150224&saldr=sa&correlator=5549531138049&frm=20&ga_vid=*&ga_sid=*&ga_hid=*&ga_fc=1&u_tz=0&u_his=3&u_java=0&u_h=900&u_w=1440&u_ah=798&u_aw=1440&u_cd=24&u_nplug=1&u_nmime=3&dff=sans-serif&dfs=13&biw=1024&bih=726&eid=317150304&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jaguarownersclub.com%2Fforums%2F&rx=0&eae=0&fc=24&brdim=0%2C22%2C0%2C22%2C1440%2C22%2C1264%2C798%2C1024%2C726&vis=1&rsz=0%7C0%7C%7C&abl=CS&ppjl=u&srr=1&fu=0&bc=1&ifi=1&xpc=y6irp0l83g&p=http%3A//www.jaguarownersclub.com&dtd=75&rl_rc=true&adsense_enabled=true&ad_type=text&ui=rc:0&oe=UTF8&height=15&width=728&format=fpkc_al_lp&prev_fmts=728x15_0ads_al&kw_type=radlink&hl=en&kw0=Owners+Manual&kw1=User+Manual&kw2=Jaguar+S+Type&kw3=Jaguar+Club&okw=User+Manual&rt=ChBVFTdxAAa86grbhcpwAFbuEgtVc2VyIE1hbnVhbBoI4A-qa3DN2KwoAVITCJOo7-mvyMQCFWtj2wodom0Abg
  16. Never had an S - Type Paul so cannot help with removing the covers sorry except for the fact that I'm pretty sure you can download the vehicles workshop manual which may assist you. Yes it would make sense to me with mechanical moving parts seizing up especially if the car is normally parked in the elements. Personally I would use WD40 to get them working but onc working I would use a silicone greece to keep them lubricated and protect them from moisture ingress.
  17. In the first instance I would check power on each mirror to include from the fuse (I would suspect each would be fused individually) and the relay/relays. If all is found to be OK then it is likely to be mechanical whereupon a strip down would be required however, the big if. Its unlikely that both mirrors would have encountered mechanical failure I would suggest it would be the same source of electrical failure along the line not forgetting the switch. I have electrical motorised mirrors in my CLK and I by-passed the switches by installing a relay so that when the ignition if off, the mirrors fold to the closed position. You need a 12V relay with 2 No. Normally Open Contacts whereupon when you turn the ignition on power is applied to the relay closing the contacts and sending power to each mirror. When you turn the ignition off then power drops off the mirrors and they close. I cannot understand why car manufacturers fit electrically operated mirrors whereupon you are required to fold the mirrors in before switching the ignition off, I always forgot which is why I decided on the above modification.
  18. Hi Paul, do not have S-Type however my XKR came with an from the Arc cassette head unit and CD changer mounted in the Boot. There was not even the option of a usb port for plugging in an iPod. Therefore, I decided to change the head unit for something more modern playing mp3, wav files etc and a usb socket for the iPod
  19. Hi Alan, welcome to the Jaguar Owners Club. If you have any problems then you can be sure someone within the club have encountered the same before you therefore, just ask the question/queries
  20. Looks like the club was formed for people with high performance cars; https://www.facebook.com/Midnight44Club/info?tab=page_info
  21. Hi Darryl, being an electrical engineer I would normally stress that 80/90 per cent of electrical faults on DC circuitry would be down to the earthing although having read through the posts, I agree with Frank on this one. Locate the relay and ensure its changing over when voltage is applied to the coil.
  22. Preferential choice I like Bosch Batteries then again thats my choice.
  23. Hi David, looking at your post you are either up very late or so early. Nevertheless, welcome to The Jaguar Owners Club, you will find a good bunch of like minded fellows on here willing to answer any queries that you may encounter
  24. It would be very unusual for both fuses to have blown, I would suspect relay. If there is one that you can swap to check then I suggest you do so.
  25. Baer, Stoptech or EBC are well known brands in replacement discs alongside the vastly more expensive Brembo of course. I've used EBC in the past and found them satisfactory albeit when open to the elements surface rust likes to adhere itself to them then again, that would probably happen to any disc.
