  1. My personal opnion is....... there's another big company doing all it can to extort as much money out of its customers as possible. No surprise to me.
  2. Hello Peter and welcome to this club full of nice people. Just thought i would mention that i use whichever fuel station is the cheapest which obviously means most of the time i am filling my 3.0 petrol with supermarket fuel and have not experienced a single problem. I have noticed if i use the higher octane petrol my car does seem a bit perkier but that is to be expected. I have been a test driver for 16 years now and before i joined jaguar i was working for the proving ground so got to do a lot of different tests for a lot of different manufacturers, one of which was a fuel additive company whereupon i learned that even the cheap supermarket fuels come from the bigger names and have to adhere to certain standards.
  3. This might answer your question. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows-frankfurt-motor-show/2016-jaguar-f-pace-revealed-full-pictures-and-details
  4. Thanks for organising that guys, that was my first visit to the heritage museum and i really enjoyed it. It was nice to meet you guys (seems jag drivers are a decent bunch) and i look forward to another meet in the future.
  5. since i only have 1 vote for the f-type from Paul and 2 votes for the XE from myself and Peter it will be the XE that i will bring along on saturday. I have to give the company fair warning for this and have done so now so it cannot be changed. I look forward to seeing you all there.
  6. any chance of the website link since i can't really work out what website you are reffering to?
  7. I am looking to buy some 18 inch wheels for an S type. I already have 18 inch on the car but they are the BBS wheels and i don't like the silly valve set up. Anyone selling any 18" wheels please let me know, they don't have to be perfect, just ok looking is fine.
  8. switch the DSC off for a whole world of fun
  9. I have been offered a couple of cars from work to bring along for people to have a look around if anyone would be interested. I have the option of an F-type 3.0 V6 charger or a new XE S 3.0 V6 charger. I am thinking the XE would probably be more attractive for members as it is more of a realistic buy for most people plus my wife is coming with me and she has a couple of health problems which would mean an F-type would be a very difficult ride for her. I am planning on bringing the XE but if i get a majority of calls for an F-type on here then i can always swap to that instead. Let me know what you might be interested in looking at/sitting in etc.
  10. I installed windows 10 and about 20 minutes later i rolled back to windows 7. Firstly windows 10 wouldn't give me a screen resolution that looked right on my TV that i use as a monitor. All the resolutions that manage to fit everything onto the screen were either too small to see/read icons and writing, or, the aspect ratio was wrong and everything looked either stretched or fat and squat. Secondly, as mentioned above some useful features that i know and use regularly have been hidden away and i can't be bothered to spend the time searching them out. Thirdly, i just didn't like the look of it. I will say though, i have the kaspersky internet suite installed and that seemed to be running fine while i had windows 10 installed.
  11. I have a copy of the jaguar xj6 workshop manual covering jaguar and daimler 2.9, 3.2, 3.6,and 4.0 litre saloons from 1986 to 1994. Owners edition. If this is any good to anyone you can have it but you would have to collect it from just outside Coventry or cover postage costs.
  12. My S type 3.0 petrol has got the monaco BBS split rim wheels on it but i hate them. Everytime i want to check my tire pressures i have to undo that stupid screw, then fit the valve adapter then check the pressure. Having to do this on all four wheels is a pain. I am looking to buy a normal set of wheels for my car and possibly sell my BBS wheels. Any of you guys out there got any wheels for sale?
  13. Looks like i maybe need to lift the right foot a bit then.
  14. I'm interested to know what sort of MPG people are getting from their 3.0 v6 petrol s types. I am currently getting around 22 MPG but i do tend to want to get home from work quick so that isn't helping. What MPG could i expect if i try drive more sensibly?
  15. Lots of glitches on these cars can be sorted with a battery reset as has happened with you, glad you sorted it.
  16. I would be interested to know if any F-type owners have had a problem (little niggle i know but.....) where in bright sunshine but with headlights on so the dashboards back lighting dims a bit, wearing sunglasses they struggle to see/read any of the displays even with the backlighting dial turned up full. I have found under these conditions i struggle to see digital readouts and the icons next to all the buttons. Would be interesting to know if this is due to the fact that my sunglasses are polarised. Other than that small niggle i love this car, especially the coupe. I have tested many top name cars over the last 16 years including aston martin, mclaren, bentley, the list goes on but i rate the F-type up there with the best of em.
  17. I/we would be interested in a meet in the midlands area.
  18. Ok thanks Ron, still not sure, i'll ponder over it.
  19. I figured the only other option would be a stick on version (which i guess if it is ever removed would leave damage to paintwork) so i'll probably live without one. Thanks for the replies guys.
  20. I would like to have the old leaper on the bonnet of my S type. Does anyone know if there are any versions out there that can be securely fitted without having to drill holes in my bonnet?
