  1. Bit Steep @ £590. I changed mine for drilled and grooved discs c/w mintex pads for £200 . I did the job myself in about 6 hours. That included rubbing down the calipers and spraying them silver. Fluid change is a v good price though.
  2. Some led lamps have a built in override to fool your car, try Googling it.
  3. I believe it is because the wattage is lower and the car thinks a bulb has blown.
  4. Regards the Sat nav, i would check the battery. You could also try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the sat nav system. No hot air, i do not have a clue sorry.
  5. Check the radiator fan is working, overheating whilst stationary usually means that the fan is not running.
  6. Clean the connection between the battery and the body (Earth) also check the connections to the battery are tight.
  7. Hunsdon Herts
  8. I think your wife is trying to tell you that she should be driving the Cat.
  9. My Reg is L111 GCH. My initials are the GCH and Lil was my mum's name.
  10. Had the sat nav on yesterday minus the voice. Directions appear on the speedo in the box above the milometer as well as on the sat nav screen.
  11. Quick update, RAC came and did all the things I had learned on here. I.E disconnect battery and wait a couple of mins, unplug the module etc. Still no luck. I asked him to check the battery and under load it was showing 12.2 volts which he said was good. I thought I read somewhere that anything under 12.3 volts can start to cause problems. Anyway off he went and I was back to square one. Just been out to the car and started her up , Don't know what made me do it but I opened the boot and disconnected the module whilst the engine was running. Left it for a couple of minutes and plugged it back in and hey presto EPB is working fine. A warm feeling of deep joy overcame me, the cat is back.
  12. Sorry boy's but none of the above has worked. I am going to call the RAC on Monday to see if they can cure it.
  13. I read somewhere that the only way to re-code the key in the car is by having 2 coded keys to start with. If you only have 1 key you will need to visit a jag dealer or indy who has the required kit to do it.
  14. Started the car yesterday morning and the EPB was not releasing. Tried the EPB reset and charged the battery overnight. Still not releasing. Does anyone know how to manually release the EPB so I can get the car to a garage?
  15. No I am in the clear , the new discs are binding on the caliper when the caliper is fully tightened up. Just cleaned up the old discs and fitted them no probs. Stern E-mail will be sent to the supplier.
  16. Who's a silly billy then. The front and rear disc's are not interchangeable. Did the rear first (no part no.s on the boxes) then did the fronts. The rear hub size is smaller so as soon as I tightened the wheel the disc was clamped against the hub. Just gonna change all the fluid now.
  17. Go over to tyreforums .co.uk and the Vredestein are favoured by most.
  18. Just changed the discs and pads , Back axle all ok. Did the EPB reset all looking good. Just finished the fronts and car will hardly move , pedal slowly going to the floor and cannot apply park brake warning light has come on. Used the laser tool on the rear and a ratchet clamp on the front to retract the pistons no probs slid the caliper over the new discs no probs started the car pumped the brake pedal and it goes hard as it should but then starts slowly going to the floor. Can't see any fluid leaks so I am at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  19. Standard one's it is then. They do look nice but I have the 18in muti-spoke wheels and you would hardly see them. Thanks everyone.
  20. It is time to change the discs and pads on my 56 plate 2.7D. I have seen drilled and grooved plates advertised along with the bog standard discs. Would there be any benefit in fitting the drilled and grooved discs to my car.
  21. Thank you all, just been out and hey ho the satnav is cancelled.
  22. Hello, I own a 56 plate 2.7 diesel xs model and have a couple of item's I need advice on. How do you cancel the Satnav once you know the rest of the route. I was lost (yes it does happen) and used the satnav to find the route home. Once I was on the M20 I knew the remaining route but could not cancel the satnav. The second item is that I have bought the Voice control module and wondered if it was simply plug and play.
