That will do the job admirably Christopher.
You might consider changing the seal as well. They can sometimes be adverseley affected by certain screen wash solutions.
Ok thanks for that information... It mentions single outlet on the listing ? does that mean it just for front washer ? I dont have rear wiper / washer. so dont need dual ?

Ive just checked Oil and noticed it was very low. I have put some 5W-30 in...
is that ok for these engines ?
Thanks in advance

Good morning folks,
Looking at getting washer pump fixed... have checked wiring etc.
Looking at ordering one off of eBay.... does anyone know whether this is the right pump ?

Pics ? :)

I haven't pressed the 'S' button in mine yet.
Reminds me of the scene in Men In Black.. "Hey Kid remember the little red button....??? PUSH the little red button".... in this case its the S button and we are off.

Filled mine up to the rim today... How much do people usually spend on filling up ?
Noticed it gives me "357" miles range... anyone else get similar ?
I put 55 quid in = full tank.

I changed my auxiliary belt recently and I found it a bit of a sod to be honest, glad I choose to fit a decent one so I don't have to worry about it again for the foreseeable. Similar to Andy's story, mine was running rough under high load and I took a punt it that it was nothing more serious than plugs and coil packs on the left bank. Luckily it wasn't and the problem is cured now, she goes better than expected TBH :)
I think its brilliant that I dont have to worry about cam belt changes, car had a new alternator put on before i bought it last week so I'd presume a new belt would of been fitted.. it looks new.
Didnt get a receipt.

Hi all, just been to have a look and theres belts running the length of the front of the engine is this not cam belt ?
-
Know it well.
Then you may know my local, The Norland. Live just over the road.

No worries there then.
To chance the plugs on the left bank requires the inlet manifold to be removed. Pig of a job that even main dealers fail to change them.
I nearly bought a car that was running rough a couple of years ago and the seller had plugs and coils changed on the right bank but still ran rough, spent too much at a dealer then decided to punt on.
Missed a bargain there!!
Where abouts in Yorkshire you from??
I'm a Yorkshireman in exile in North Wales !!
Ahhh I see, I'm in Hessle, just outside of Hull

Plug change is no problem if I don't have to worry about cam belts... good thing to know is its just had a new alternator put on with new belt. SO no belts to worry about!!
-
WOW! Never knew that about cam chain... supposing mine is Ive not checked to be honest.
-
No ones mentioned it but ive never had a car with chains before so wondered about it.
SO they dont need renewing ?
-
Hey folks,
Im wondering what the mileage recommendation is as to when to get the cam chains renewed ? My S Type is currently at 70038.
How many thousand miles is it to each change ?
I have the 2002 (51) 3.0 V6 Sport.
Thanks in advance.

Bumper off job as far as I can recall Christopher. Changing it over is simple though.
Suggest a replacement from the likes of Fleabay though rather than OEM.
The old pump is simple to test once you get to it. Just pull the wiring connector off and apply 12 volts direct from the battery. No noise = replace pump. If the pump runs then you have a wiring fault.
Thanks Ill get my mate to have a look at it for me and tell him what you told me, thanks.
Whats the recommended amount of mileage before cam chains need renewing ?
Thanks

You can buy just the blade inserts (just the rubber bit) around a fiver a pair they slide right in,
I use them on all my vehicles.
Where are the inserts from ?

I have the 3.0 V6 Sport, havent done a long run in it yet...
-
with mine being a 2002 (51 Plate) I guess mine is the Mk1 ?
-
As yet, Im yet to look at the problem... Cant see it being a blockage as I hear no noise at all coming from the Pump ?

Hi all,
New to the forum so go easy lol
I have recently bought an S Type.. when I bought it I was informed that the Washer Pump for the front windscreen is not working. Apparently, all wiring and fuses have been checked. Pushing the stalk for washer doesnt make a sound from the pump at all. Easy fix ?
Thanks in advance
