  1. Hi Peter Got to say, that made me laugh! Astrophysics or the Female? whats the more difficult to fathom out? (I think we know the answer!) As to your question i have the 3.0 litre, I have done some reading since i posted last message, and i'm getting mixed answers. The site in the link to previous post, (Bluejag) also has instructions on how to re-program the S type fob, yet as you look around the web, and other forums, some are quite adamant that its a Dealer or Auto-locksmith job. The thing that concerns me more than anything, is if i have a go i don't want to mess up the working fob
  2. Hi Peter "This pile of junk" ? You just 'gotta luv em' I posted this a while ago for another member, for the X type, do you by chance know if it would be the same process for an S type? http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/12189-key-pairing-to-car/?do=findComment&comment=31193 Regards Steve
  3. Some times, you just have to hold your hands up, and give credit were it's due! Me and the better half were talking about the fob last night, she said "Dont you have to 'Thingy' it when you change the battery?" Translation: Thingy = 're-program' i believe she's right? I have seen the instructions on how to, but can't see how you can physically re-program both at the same time, is there a short period you get to do this?
  4. Russ although this is an X type, i beleive this is the same modle Unit i'm concidering (or as near as damn it) from Halfords. most of the video is pointless, but it gives an idea of how it would look https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBzeGHQErWs Steve
  5. Hi Tony have you managed to squeeze 2 seats in the rear of the cab as well? I can't quite make out if possible or not. Is she going to be a working car? clearly talented by the way
  6. I got in touch with with Halfords, below is thier response you will need- Fascia CT24JG02 at £29.99 and wiring loom which will also connect the steering wheel remote- CTSJG003.2 at £43.99, all item will need to be ordered in for you at your local store, the fitting charge would be at £30.00
  7. Cheers Tony i hadnt given any thought to the steering wheel controls, i would imagine there is some sort of connector for that?
  8. Hi All One of the jobs on my list to do, is change the single CD (Broken) so i got thinking i may change the radio at the same time. i need a CD player / Radio / USB stick reader. (I dont have music on my Samsung android phone) I found this http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-stereos/pioneer-fh-x720bt-car-stereo which i presume is a Double Din unit, from what i can tell has bluetooth so you can receive / make calls? although i already have a parrot system so not important. Have any of you guys fitted a unit of this type and size? any tips, pics would be appreciated. I will probably ask Halfords to do it Regards Steve
  9. Hi All When i got the car, there was a spare key fob, pretty new, with out a battery. i bought one and had A Jag dealer programme for me, worked fine for a couple of months. lately its not been unlocking / locking the car (using the remote buttons) yet will lock and alarm when used manually, the igintion recognises it, and starts fine. when i use the 'Old' fob which still works fine, it seems to give the 'New' fob a kick up the backside, and it works again. Yesterday, the 'New' fob opened the car (Remotley) and started fine, got to where we were going. When coming back to the car it refused to open or operate anything (remotley) but did work when the key was inserted (Thankfully) When i got home i fetched the 'Old' fob to make sure she was alarmed for the evening. On the way to work this morning, tried the 'New' fob again Nothing, Nada! i have replaced the battery, only two weeks ago, as it appeard that the battery had been discharged, while my keys were squashed / wedged in my bag. Any ideas? Regards Steve
  10. That's different Tony! Would like to see more pics for sure Welcome by the way to JOC Steve
  11. Hi Denis i have a 2003 '200 sport' I believe June / July registered, I didn't know they are limited edition? Would seriously be interested in any info you might get. Does yours have the badge like mine under the S type badge on the back? It's the oblong piece you can just about see below I asked the dealer, why it was 'Very rare' as it was advertised, but he had know idea! These are his photos (the big ones) ignore the reg plate, that was private, I now have its original and have changed the grille since. Regards Steve
  12. Paul the image you have provided has what looks like a 'Rimmer' water mark on it. That may be a starting point, is the part for something specific, or is it just a generic connector? Steve
  13. if you cant beat 'Em' join em
  14. Hi Mark welcome as well, any pics at all? regards Steve
  15. Very handy information Peter Much Appreciated regards steve
  16. Hi Peter How do you release the parkbrake?
  17. Hi Russ I'm not knowledgeable enough to help you there i'm afraid perhaps Simon (SimJag) can help regards Steve
  18. Cheers Simon & Russ thats one thing I don't have to worry about steve
  19. Cheers Russ As you have the sports model, same as i do, do you know by chance whether it's a lower ride than a none sport model? The reason i ask, is now (having looked around) i'm worried whether a standard trolley jack will go under, or whether i need to get a 'Low profile' one. i'm on 18" rims, so a fairly low profile tyres as well. I cant check, as my normal trolley jack is about 50 miles away!
  20. Thanks Guys Derek thanks for the heads up on the extensions, fortunatley i still have a trolley jack, so i may just go for the Axle stands, seems the simplest solution, especially (now i think of it) as storage for ramps would be problematic. Thanks Tim for the link, looks like a good site Steve
  21. Thanks Guys Looks like Black then, Does anyone know a good divorce lawyer (just kidding) now need to decide, normal paint and brush, or spray paint and faff around making a template Thanks again Steve
