  1. Shame, Found out recently my Omega V6 also died, over heated I'm told, both me and the Boss! Loved that car
  2. Cheers Peter 'Green seat belts' well what can you say to that.... Bless her
  3. I wish I could 'Like' your reply more than once Andy, made me laugh
  4. Hi Bill Wish I could advise more, but I have practically zero knowledge of the AC system, other than the cost to replace an AC pump Ouch! There are very knowledgeable guys on here, who will have done that work, or can offer advice, I'm sure someone will contribute soon I will watch on in interest Steve
  5. Guy's I was outside having a smoke and cuppa earlier, and was looking at her (as you do of course) another idea popped into my mind. What about spraying the whole chrome piece Black but leave the lettering as is? whilst at it, spray the S Type badge and the 3.0 badge as well (added after the pic was taken) Any thoughts?
  6. Hi Bill When was the last time the AC was re-gassed? That may be something to look into Steve
  7. Well said John i told you theres a great bunch on this forum. Best Regards Steve
  8. Hi John, and welcome to the JOC which is a great community, I'm quite a newbie to the forum compared to most members but the folks on here really are a great bunch. I find your comment actually quite annoying, Julie mentions impatience and intolerance (totally agree Julie, not a criticism) I would add another word Ignorance! On a personal note, I try to be as polite as I can, with everyone I meet, if I say thank you, please or it's appreciated, I mean it! Yet somehow that seems to translate to a weakness? One thing I don't 'profess' to be, is a well mannered Gent, but I have a damn good go! I dont get it right all the time, but I make a genuine effort.
  9. Good news Alan Welcome to the JOC it's a great forum, post some pics if you can and enjoy your Jag Steve
  10. Steve Let us know how you get on
  11. Hi Alan forgive me if you have done the things I'm going to suggest Have you gone into your phones Bluetooth settings and asked it to scan for compatible devices? have you made you phone visible to other devices? I have an S4 galaxy my car does not have Jaguar voice, but has the parrot System, pairing the devices was pretty straight forward Steve
  12. Apologies Derek should have replied sooner. Firstly many thanks for the offer of using yours, but quite a trek for something I'm hoping will take about an an hour or so to sort, it really is appreciated though. I will figure a way to support the boards if I go that route, I'm leaning towards the simple solution axle stands, one side at a time for a little more safety, with the spare wheel under the back wheel also many thanks again Steve
  13. Wow! They would do the job that's for sure Cheers Niall one of those things you wished you invented yourself
  14. Hi Steve Maybe this may help? If the link doesn't take you directly to the page it's 2,058 - 2,059 I'm talking a punt it could be the GEM Generic Engine Module? It looks like it could be in the right place? The guy's will of course know if I'm talking rubbish Regards Steve http://www.the-colliers.net/docs/public/guides%20&%20manuals/Jaguar%20Workshop%20Manual%20%20X-Type%202001-2009.pdf#page2058
  15. Hi guys Thanks for all suggestions, but I have sorted itlast year I bought a replacement remote control for the parrot because I wasn't convinced the one already there was in the best of Nick, anyway paired the new one, looked at user manual, selected Bluetooth audio, Bingo! Music from my phone. The remote controls the volume, okay not the loudest, but you wouldn't be able to hear any external noise. Just got to get music on my phone rather than chewing up data allowance and annoying buffering Thanks again Chaps Regards Steve
  16. Thanks Derek and yes you did mention trailer ramps, but as I mentioned in my post I have no space to store them. Do you see any other options open to me, other than the ones I'm considering ? regards Steve
  17. Hi All Just an update on the ramp situation, it's not good news. i bought a standard pair and as you will see from the pics, they are just too high for my liking also the rear pipe (right hand side) is hanging low and to the right, my concern is twofold, 1) it could snag on the ramp on the way up, 2) When the sports boxes go on, the pipes are a lot wider than the standard kit so are at risk of 'grounding ' and causing god knows what damage! (I would of course put them on the concrete not on the grass!) So what are my options? Lay timber in front of ramps to lift her higher as she approaches them? jack the car up and use axle stands? jack her up as high as possible, use axle stands, pack out under the trolley jack to lift even higher and hopefully slide the ramps in place? I am also considering using two scaffolding boards, cutting them in half and fix them together to double the thickness, but would need to find a way to attach to the ramps to stop them twisting and dropping the car off! I just don't have the storage space for extensions, whereas scaffold boards could be just left outside. As always any thoughts, ideas greatly appreciated Regards Steve
  18. Hi Ian not sure what you mean when you say you're "going to have some colour done" what are you thinking? Perhaps I've missed a previous thread. Steve
  19. Hi Paul You have a cooling off period, which I believe is 14 days, see link below, in your case I would wait to see what the MOT states, as it appears the dealer is making an effort to make the goods 'Fit for purpose' in one of the pictures, I see a building in the background mentioning MOT! is this the same company as the dealer your buying the car off? my advice would be caution! they may well be straight up guys, and who knows the car may sail through the MOT without any scary advisories hope this helps Steve http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/car-buyers-guide/cbg_legalrights.html
  20. Very nice Simon, look good!
  21. Sound of the engine for me Peter! Don't know why I'm bothering with Music, when I have it for free
  22. That has to be an XJ or XJS then I would think? But may need some work? The guys on the forum will have much better knowledg than me. I recently looked at an XJS, starting price was £500 but needed lots and lots of work. Again it depends on what you're prepared to do? If you just want to stick the key in the ignition and drive away, then you will have to look around I think for your budget, in that age bracket.
  23. Hi Andrew Welcome to JOC, lots of different models to choose from, always liked the XJ, just something about it says luxurious comfort ( with a little something under the bonnet!) but each to their own, it depends on what's on your tick list? Sporty? Pace? Looks? You will see I own an S Type, which I'm more than happy with (my first Jag) I didn't choose it, she chose me! I would suggest you take a seat, in different models, and perhaps a test drive if possible, you will know which!! which ever you choose, enjoy Steve
  24. Probably Jim, but I don't know how to tune (manually) the radio? You will need the patience of a saint I'm afraid, give me a lump hammer and cold chisel and I'm okay
  25. I sort of get it? Is that gadget just for radio though? Or is it about transmitting Audio signal? No matter what type? I have mentioned before, modern technology has left me way behind, so apologies for struggling to understand. + = Hard work!
