  1. Hi

Just check the usual, some diesels have issues starting from cold, so see if engines cold when you get there

also my biggest worry would be sills check both sills, as the covers hides a lot of it, have a good look around the bottom seam

if the sills are great, then all most sure the rest of the car will be rust free

check all the electrics work, these allways make a better bargaining point and check head light adjusters move up and down, the adjusters break inside the head light, can be fixed but another bargaining point

and as with every thing check service history, also check tyres, if its got descent tyres, then it will tell you previous owner was'nt a skin flint

    cheers

  2. Hi

Ive used it to get me home before, but i don't think i'd use it in my jag, I'd have it recovered first.

it works well if the leak is in the radiator and seals it quite good

but if its one of your hoses leaking the it won't seal usually, they expand too much with pressure

    cheers

  3. Hi

I'd allway's recommend a new belt, mainly because you don't want it fail this time of year, while the weather rubbish

but if you want a quick fix, 1 really short shot of wd40 will cure it for a for a while, aim for the inside of the belt, makes the rubber a bit softer

    cheers

  4. Hi

yes its pricey, but i think price will drop on it

its quite a new model at the moment as its just come out with HDMI on it

it also has 2 video in on it so you can add other stuff like reverse camera or anything with video in

I just want the Hdmi in, so i can use my android phone on it, then with google voice, I can access everthing on my phone, handsfree, voice controlled.

    cheers

  5. Hi

like every thing else its old hat now and there no money in it for jaguar

they want you to upgrade to a newer car, with newer gadgets

on later xf's you can add poi and speed camera's with a usb flash drive

there no money in it for after market people either, every body got a free app on there phone that will do a lot better for free, apps like google maps, copilot and tomtom

all these do it much better with free speed cameras, traffic and much more

I want a NAVTOOL, this interface's with the nav unit in the boot, then i can just plug my phone into the hdmi and it all comes up on the original jaguar nav screen

but there a bit dear still, at £299 all in shipped to the uk

    cheers

    Joe

  6. HI

I think it can be done, but its very complicated

you need a kiwi file editor

which will edit the kiwi files on the jaguar sat nav disc, where poi are stored

then you can add the speed camera database off pocket gps world

then once edited you would have to burn it to a new dl dvd

started to look into it myself, but not had chance

    cheers

  7. hi

I bought some of these ages ago

i used 4 off these to make a 4 wheel alignment gauge for my mitsubishi

they might do the job and for the price you wont lose much anyway

they work off 2 AAA batteries but you could easily replace them with a power supply

have added some pics 2 off eBay

    cheers

  8. hi

I'd just use a laser line, there plenty on eBay and there really cheap

mount it on your back wall, so it projects a red line down the middle of you garage floor and in the middle of your garage doors

it should project a good way out of your garage

you could put a limit switch on you garage door, so as soon as it opens, hit the switch  and brings you laser on

then all you have to do is line it up with the led in the middle of the front of your dash, the security flashing led, it bang middle of your dash

that should take you in, bang in the middle all the way

    cheers

  9. hi

to swap this you need to remove

1 plastic cover, on inside of boot lid with grab handle slots, there two screws, under two plastic covers, just pop the plastic cover out, screws are torx

2 remove carpet/trim from inside of boot lid there a good few clips all round the trim and 2 in the middle, flat blade screw driver will ease them out

3 unplug both number plate lights and unplug boot open push button, ( put a rag over the boot lock because if you shut the boot by mistake you wont be able to open it )

4 there 2 metal covers over the number plate lamp holders, sqeeze top and bottom of cover and they come out ( i would leave these two metal cover off when you reassemble, these allways cause the  boot lid to rust, you see what i mean when you take the jaguar trim off )

5 you can remove both number plate lamp holders now, they just pull out

6 there 4 pressed metal nuts that hold the jaguar trim on, just feel inside, two each side, spray a bit of wd40 on these first, the plastic thread allways snap off

7 give the jaguar trim a little pull and it should come off, there just two little clips holding it on

8 remove the boot open push button and swap it to the new one, 2 srews

    rest is just in reverse

    cheers

  10. Hi

mine came with croc clips and direct connection lead

I had to extend and add a fuse to the direct connection lead, fuse is a must

but there's load of accesories for the ctek chargers, leads, led leads that show battery level at a glance, mounting brackets

they also come with a 5 year guarantee which is good

the genuine jaguar one has a socket in the boot, which is a pain if you forget, so i altered mine to the front of the car.
