  2. ............ and here we see the 3.0 Jaguar in its natural habitat, a fillng station! 🤣 Joking aside, i have an S Type 3.0 and i easily get at least 28mpg from it without trying - the big enemy of good mpg is pootling about at 30mph up and down the gears. Long straight roads, constant speed above 50mph and it gets good figures. Welcome aboard Daniel, as mentioned above, check for rust on the sills and where they meet the rear wheel arches.

  4. Hello folks I'm in a similar dillema moving from a convertible Volvo C 70 with its folding metal roof and great capacity to an F type fixed head coupe which does at least allow golf club storage. I would have loved the convertible version but with no storage on board, maybe i should keep the Volvo for summer holidays. By the way do our F type owners think that the glass sun roof is an asset. (No wonder Im calling myself Frazzle) ,
  5. It isn't the cam cover gasket it is the manifold actuator flap gasket. Check behind the manifold casting and you will find it is wet. Another good reason for an oil catch tank from the engine breather. https://ebay.us/m/IYddQl https://ebay.us/m/OkfXPQ
  6. No, but SDD 131 and mongoose can do it. As soon as you plug it in it will read the car and send you to 'Legacy' IDS. Apparently this version is easy enough to track down and it has to run on WinXP with the PC date August 2012!

  12. Hello Christopher. Thanks for that. The dealer is dealing with the issue thankfully and they think its a faulty instrument cluster which is being repaired at present. I will keep you posted. Thanks. Best, Rob
  13. out of date map has nothing to do with tcu? and compromising head unit relates to head unit software update... find specialist who updates jag systems for a living. quite often they are mobile.
  14. I’ve just got a 1998 XK8, on the way home all the instruments stoped working, SPEED, RPM, FUEL, OIL, WATER, AMPS. Non of the back lights on any instruments work. The car starts and drives. So I think there must be a connector that is either come adrift or corroded. Can any one point me in the right direction to where this might be located or any other suggestions? Thanks
  15. Dave thanks for that. I will check behind the trim in the boot for any signs of water ingress shortly.
  16. funktioniert nicht. hat jemand einen Tip
  17. hi, sorry to read about the problems, but if yuo had to change discs and pads within 6 minths span, considering you work from home...you are being robbed in day light, sorry to say. way you needed all 4 new wheels? tyres i can understand...all those fixes do not fill me with confidence. look for independent jaguar garage and give them car for a full check and then decide what to do. it wil cost you something, but without jag specialists looking at it, it's a guessing game (as it is so far, by the looks of it).

  19. I’ve driven all over the south of England with it working perfectly. The original radio had a very average sound but now it’s from the phone ( digital I suppose) the sound is 100% clearer. Very surprised tbh.
  20. Hi everyone! Can anyone advise where to start looking for the problem.. The traction control light is flashing.. The fault codes have been read, but no reason was found for that.. IMG_9723.mov
  21. Ref XFS 2018 model, mileage 54,000 MOT advisory "Shock absorbers has light misting of oil Offside Rear (5.3.2.(b) Garage has advised that I should replace both at cost of £1050 parts plus £380 labor plus vat. I'd welcome any suggestions

  24. This might help. I just put my XK8 on ebay and put limits on it. Here's my example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167837175528
  25. Hi Anthony, you have keyless entry and pulling the door handle whilst still having the keys on your person will unlock the door you are pulling on. Try double locking the vehicle - press the lock button twice and have the vehicle chirp to you. Walk away and put the keys at least 2 metres from the car and then walk back to try the door pull again. N6 JMX
  26. I own a 2009 Jaguar XF X250 2.7 V6 (AI-D) and I’m experiencing a strange issue that appears occasionally in the form of vibrations. I’ve noticed that between 40–50 km/h and at low RPMs (especially when going uphill), just before the car needs to downshift, there are quite strong vibrations coming from the rear of the vehicle. The same thing also happens between 70–80 km/h. There are no problems in shifting nor sound from the gearbox, only vibrations from the rear somewhere. I’ve had it checked at Jaguar, but they couldn’t determine the cause of the problem. A workshop has already replaced the center driveshaft without success. Has anyone experienced something similar or have an idea what this could be? Thanks in advance

  28. I would look into having them remanufactured by a hydraulic fitters company. If you sent the eBay lot to them they could work them over. Since you now have a spare set you should look into it.
  29. Did you renew the fuel filter as well?
