If you can, find another headlamp and unplug your offside/drivers headlamp and plug the wiring into the "spare" unit. If the fault persists, it's not the headlamp, if the DRL comes up bright on the spare unit then it's the light unit. However, you may find if the spare is bright, the original might "miraculously" become bright - this points to corroded/dirty connections within the plugs.

Dim lights usually points to a poor earth connection. Check the earth point for corrosion on the relevant headlight. N6 JMX- 1 reply

The most likely cause of a drain that large is the “alarm chirp sounder”. The internal batteries degrade over time and short out causing the drain. Disconnect it and then see what happens.

A little update. I left the car unlocked for 12 hours - I know stupid, then again in the search for knowledge and all that - the alarm did not set nor did it go of when I got in. Next is to lock the car with one blip and get a group of us to wobble bounce and general upset it to see if the motion sensors get set off Stay tuned!

Hi, just trying to figure out where abouts this photo was taken? I have a very wet foam under my carpet of my 2013 XF Sprotbrake. Had the hose on the NS for a good 40 minutes with the carpets up and nothing came in. Also had the engine running for a time and couldn't see any ac drain from underneath Thanks!

!Removed! hell, your fault? an insult if you ask me...yeh i would speak to dealer principal, if they won't even entertain the idea, legal action full on.

if you had tiny rattle at first then the damage was not done then, it was just the beggining of the chain problem. they f it up on replacement as there is no way it got worse after the replacement on it's own. you might be in for long and winded 'battle' with this one. i would go and look for 2nd opinion in good independent jag garage. and wouldnt be driving it either as the result might engine failure.

Hi David, excellent, well done. Enjoy a new project and get it out and about - they do need to be used, even if sparingly. N6 JMX

The SV8 was the top of the range XF from 2008-2009, using the 420 BHP version of the supercharged 4.2 V8 engine, which was used previously in the S-TYPE R, XJR and XKR models. The XFR came out in 2009, and used the newer 5.0 Supercharged V8 engine with 503 BHP. The SV8 was discontinued when the XFR was launched, hence it's rarity, only being in production for 1 year. It was marketed as a 'Luxury performance' version, hence not being badged as an 'R' model.

Thanks for approving my membership, Just purchased my third Jaguar XJ, first was 1975 series 2 4.2 second was an 1994 3.2 XJ40 Gold and this week a 1995 XJR. It's my second car so ready for cruising. Hi David, you should be aware that in a normal braking system the fluid should be replaced every 2 years as brake fluid absorbs moisture and that is not good in a braking system. This would be why the garage did a brake fluid replacement during the service - it is standard every second service, N6 JMX

Hello I have a 1997 XK8. Last year it passed its MOT with no advisories. This year it has failed with major urgent issues including work requiring sub frame removal to deal with some holes. I cannot understand how none of this was picked up last year and how on earth can it go from passed MOT no advisories, to a huge failure in one year?! Anyway, I've been advised that the repairs needed will be more than the value of the car. It's such a gorgeous looking car and so I'm really sad about it. What's the best thing to do with it? Scrap it, or hope that an enthusiast would give me a bit more for it and do the work themselves? I'd be so grateful for advice.

If it's the same as the X250 door handles, the wires fatigue. I've repaired one with some servo wire!

Only a thought, but the two features showing as 'expired' (secure tracker and online data plan) only come with a 12 month subscription ? If you purchased your F-PACE in July last year, they will have expired this month, if you want to retain these features, you will need to pay the annual subscription. Think it is £240 per year for the Tracker and £120 per year for the data plan ?
