  2. Hi all. Looking for some info. I have a 2007(56) 2.7d s type s I has folding mirrors but i cannot get them to fold in automatically when i lock the car. Manual folding works fine. Am i or is the car missing something . . Many thanks
  3. I have listed my Jaguar S Type for sale by auction on EBAY - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/146895997363 but would be willing to negotiate a straight sale and end on the auction early. It is a Jaguar S Type 3.4 1967 – Rare Automatic Gold with original burgundy interior Family owned for the past 28 years has always been kept in a heated garage. Good history file with the car. Full body respray in approximately 2004, however the paint will require a bit of attention here and there. Original interior in excellent condition, getting hard to find cars of this age with such clean original interiors. Clock showing 85,427 miles Webasto roof, believed to be factory fitted. Drove into the shed 18 years ago, and has not moved since, so will require recommissioning to get back on the road. That being said, I am not a mechanic, and I do not have the time to get it going, so it is sold as sits. he car is sold in good faith, but no warranty is given nor implied, the onus being on any potential buyer to satisfy themselves of the condition of the car before purchase. That being said this car recommissioned will be a fabulous example of a rare Jaguar. Car is located in County Clare and can be delivered at additional pre-agreed cost.
  4. I have now received the mirrors, which interestingly came from Taiwan. They look fabulous before I offer them to the car. Just for your information, I know it was my risk, but they are quite a long way from being an acceptable fit. I have asked for fitting advice in case I am being stupid, but I fully expect them to be going back to Taiwan; they are very rigid, and the OEM one I am trying to replace was quite springy. I will keep everyone informed as to the progress. These cost £90, and that was fine for a good fitting part, so does anyone know of an alternative source, cos I think I will need one. Even if the current supplier does what other long-distance suppliers sometimes do and say keep the parts and or? as it is, too expensive to return them, I don't think I could make them fit without damaging the chromed edges and leaving them prone to plastic/ chrome corrosion or festering whatever happens, or is it still stable if it has been filed and trimmed? 5. hope this is allowed... only selling because dvla took licence away because of the prescription medication I'm on see it here.... https://ebay.us/m/2gyvZe thanks
  6. Hi Kevin, it would be helpful if you gave a bit more information about the diff issue to allow folks to assess what type of service / assistance you might need. From memory, there was an episode of "Salvage Hunters Classic Cars" with Paul Cowland taking a differential to a specialist who worked from his garden shed in the Northeast of England. This guy completely rebuilt the diff - is that the level of service you are seeking? N6 JMX

  8. Pretty sure it is under the rear parcel shelf. Regards John
  9. Are these what you are after? https://www.jagsparesinternational.co.uk/prodcat.asp?root=|100:259| Good luck John
  10. Hi Andy , well chuffed you finally got your jag back on the road , They can be a nightmare at times REGARDS Dave 62
  11. In that case, it's probably an old code, read the codes again, check there's nothing new and then erase them. Drive the car as normal and see if the codes and charge warning light come back. If the code does come back with the charge warning light, you'll have to take it to where the alternator was fitted, it should have come with some sort of warranty
  12. Oops! Finger trouble - sorry. The car is here. Martin
  13. HI justin, sorry about the late reply, thank you for giving me the info, would never have figured it myself...hopefully it will be a cheaper fix, and thanks for the ebay connection. do I need to buy and replace the 2 items you mention? or is it just the gasket ring? thanks again, best, Kevin

  15. I agree the maps are nothing to do with it but ,but the maps cannot be updated as the TCU and IMC are out of date preventing the infontain system to operate correctly. Jaguar Land Rover say it won't effect my vehicle Lloyds jaguar aren't as confident. But they'll take £203 for the privilege.
  16. I have a Jaguar XF Portfolio March 2015 2.2d, looking in the engine bay last weekend I saw the BLUE connector below that is not connected to anything. Any idea what it is? There is no connector nearby that it could connect to as far as I can see. I'd have thought if it was redundant or for some accessory my car doesn't have then it would have a waterproof plug added???
  17. Well I checked the boot (both sides and spare wheel well) and absolutely no damp or water ingress at all, see pics below. I understand there are 3 modules for the parking aid system (rear sensors module, front sensors module and master) but I could not see any of them in the boot area, any one any idea where they are? Many thanks.
  18. Hi Martin That sounds very expensive!. Presumably a Jag main dealer. I would be looking for other quotes without a doubt. As a guide to parts prices try searching online at places like this : https://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/jaguar/xf-x260/115130/10221-shock-absorber Good luck John
  19. swapped this set for a 17" set so now surplus to requirements, all 6mm plus, comes with vertical cover - will take £250 but they need to be collected, Hertford
  20. Thanks to you both for your opinions, much appreciated. May not have one fitted after all.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Decided to order some new plates and a new plate holder for my jaguar x type as they were looking rather old and tatty , fixed and installed the rear plate no issues just a couple of screws but as I took the plate off the holder there are 3 metal rivets fixing the holder to the bumper , any advice on what I can do? Will I need to remove the whole bumper to replace this or will I be able to remove these with a drill? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if anyone has done this before tips would be great
  23. The C70 is enjoying a bit of a rennaissance interms of value and kudos so my advice would be SORN it over winter and run it as a summer car.
  24. ............ and here we see the 3.0 Jaguar in its natural habitat, a fillng station! 🤣 Joking aside, i have an S Type 3.0 and i easily get at least 28mpg from it without trying - the big enemy of good mpg is pootling about at 30mph up and down the gears. Long straight roads, constant speed above 50mph and it gets good figures. Welcome aboard Daniel, as mentioned above, check for rust on the sills and where they meet the rear wheel arches.
  25. No, but SDD 131 and mongoose can do it. As soon as you plug it in it will read the car and send you to 'Legacy' IDS. Apparently this version is easy enough to track down and it has to run on WinXP with the PC date August 2012!
  26. Eaton M112 oil from Powerhouse. It carries the same specs as the Jet oil such as the US Military performance standards.
  27. Welcome aboard Dave, glad you finally found us!
