  2. Hi everyone! i own a 68 plate Jaguar epace, 65k on the clock. A couple of weeks ago my engine coolant light came on, but when I looked my engine coolant was full. fast forward to today and my ‘engine overheating’ warning came on so I pulled over. Again, I checked and coolant was full. when I turned my car off it made a loud sound like it was working hard to try and cool down, but as I say coolant was full. Anyone experienced this, and any idea what it could be before I pay out?

  8. The battery on my 2003 Jaguar S Type spare key fob died. Having replaced it, it now opens and locks the car doors but cannot start the engine, stating that the steering wheel is locked. What should I do?
  9. I possess a 3.5 SE Type, which I bought brand new in 2002. I put the car into the garage for a few repairs under the bonnet. It was at this time that the Garage informed me that the sills (both sides) are rusted badly! The car is now scrap and off the road, but mechanically & the interior are in good condition. I would like to get rid of the car to make room for another vehicle. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone is interested in having the car for spare parts?
  10. Thank you very much
  11. Dim lights usually points to a poor earth connection. Check the earth point for corrosion on the relevant headlight. N6 JMX
  12. Hi, is this still available and where are you based? Thanks

  14. The most likely cause of a drain that large is the “alarm chirp sounder”. The internal batteries degrade over time and short out causing the drain. Disconnect it and then see what happens.
  15. A little update. I left the car unlocked for 12 hours - I know stupid, then again in the search for knowledge and all that - the alarm did not set nor did it go of when I got in. Next is to lock the car with one blip and get a group of us to wobble bounce and general upset it to see if the motion sensors get set off Stay tuned!
  16. Hi, just trying to figure out where abouts this photo was taken? I have a very wet foam under my carpet of my 2013 XF Sprotbrake. Had the hose on the NS for a good 40 minutes with the carpets up and nothing came in. Also had the engine running for a time and couldn't see any ac drain from underneath Thanks!
  17. !Removed! hell, your fault? an insult if you ask me...yeh i would speak to dealer principal, if they won't even entertain the idea, legal action full on.
  18. if you had tiny rattle at first then the damage was not done then, it was just the beggining of the chain problem. they f it up on replacement as there is no way it got worse after the replacement on it's own. you might be in for long and winded 'battle' with this one. i would go and look for 2nd opinion in good independent jag garage. and wouldnt be driving it either as the result might engine failure.
  19. The SV8 was the top of the range XF from 2008-2009, using the 420 BHP version of the supercharged 4.2 V8 engine, which was used previously in the S-TYPE R, XJR and XKR models. The XFR came out in 2009, and used the newer 5.0 Supercharged V8 engine with 503 BHP. The SV8 was discontinued when the XFR was launched, hence it's rarity, only being in production for 1 year. It was marketed as a 'Luxury performance' version, hence not being badged as an 'R' model.
  20. Thanks for approving my membership, Just purchased my third Jaguar XJ, first was 1975 series 2 4.2 second was an 1994 3.2 XJ40 Gold and this week a 1995 XJR. It's my second car so ready for cruising. Been car mad since I was a nipper. I'm sure if I have any questions this is the place to get answers. Right I'm off for a quick tour of the Cotswolds, think I'd better fill her up John.
  21. Hi David, No it wasn’t, it was in the South West..
  22. Hi all i have a 1996 xk8 , are there any easy fixes with the electric petrol cap . Mine has recently stopped working. I know how to manually open it but is there a common problem and easy fix for them . Thanks in advance . also more importantly are there any jag breakers yards near Manchester/ Rochdale area that can be recommended. Regards Dave.

  25. Hi David, you should be aware that in a normal braking system the fluid should be replaced every 2 years as brake fluid absorbs moisture and that is not good in a braking system. This would be why the garage did a brake fluid replacement during the service - it is standard every second service, N6 JMX

  27. Hello I have a 1997 XK8. Last year it passed its MOT with no advisories. This year it has failed with major urgent issues including work requiring sub frame removal to deal with some holes. I cannot understand how none of this was picked up last year and how on earth can it go from passed MOT no advisories, to a huge failure in one year?! Anyway, I've been advised that the repairs needed will be more than the value of the car. It's such a gorgeous looking car and so I'm really sad about it. What's the best thing to do with it? Scrap it, or hope that an enthusiast would give me a bit more for it and do the work themselves? I'd be so grateful for advice.
  28. If it's the same as the X250 door handles, the wires fatigue. I've repaired one with some servo wire!
  29. Only a thought, but the two features showing as 'expired' (secure tracker and online data plan) only come with a 12 month subscription ? If you purchased your F-PACE in July last year, they will have expired this month, if you want to retain these features, you will need to pay the annual subscription. Think it is £240 per year for the Tracker and £120 per year for the data plan ?
