Missing screw cover above instrument cluster - Replacement?
BiK3rZ replied to MBG's topic in Jaguar XF Club

Hi, I am a new member and proud owner of a 2009 xj Sovereign Jag (2.7 TDVI) I have a long standing electrical fault which effects the windows, overtaking wing mirrors, release of parking brake and door locking. Drivers window will only go down in 50mm intervals and you have to pull the button up 8 times to start it moving up again. All very strange! I think the issues are linked maybe to the door module, but having replaced the one in the driver's door, the problems remain. I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues, in the hope that you might help me get closer to a solution.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to get back to me, I really appreciate it. At various points during this process I gave tried another seat pressure pad, and also the control module that it is connected to under the seat, and still getting an error code. I have even replaced the SRS module under the centre console and still have the light? Is there any way to check the pressure module is in good woking order or faulty? It is a complete mystery.

Hopefully this will help you out; airbag code 16 indicates a passenger seat weight sensor CAN fault. This means there's a communication issue with the sensor that detects if someone is sitting in the passenger seat. The CAN (Controller Area Network) is a communication bus that various modules in the car use to talk to each other, and the fault code suggests a problem with the signal from the passenger seat weight sensor being transmitted over the CAN. Here's a more detailed explanation: Passenger Seat Weight Sensor: This sensor is located under the passenger seat cushion and is designed to detect the weight of a person sitting there. CAN Fault: The CAN bus is a communication network that allows different modules in the car to exchange data. If the passenger seat weight sensor is not communicating properly with the other modules (like the airbag control module) via the CAN, it will trigger code 16. Possible Causes: Faulty weight sensor under the seat. Wiring or connection issues in the passenger seat weight sensor circuit. A problem with the CAN bus itself (less likely). Faulty passenger airbag module.

HI I hope someone can help me out. I have a beautiful S type which was only spoiled by the sets which I found uncomfortable. I found a set of V8 s type R fully electrically adjustable seats which I had re covered to match the two tone grey in my car. Having fitted them I now have an airbag light code (1.6) all of the functions seem to work fine heaters etc, but I just can't get rid of the airbag light. I have put a diagnostic code reader on it and it is showing .7 ohms on the seat belt pretensioner which I know is too low. I have tried replacing it and it throughs up the same result? all the colour coded wires appear to match up where they have been soldered together. I am running out of options can anyone help.

Hi Everyone! I have just bought a 2018 XF awd Sportbrake having owned a 2013 XF saloon since 2019. On my older Jag, there is a section on the display where I can select the paddles to work in Drive and Sport or Sport only whereas on the newer one I cannot find this function. The paddles only work in Sport mode. Is there a function somewhere that I can get the paddles to work in both modes, do 2018 models not have this function or is there a problem? Any input gratefully received KR Hardwood1

Hi all i bought a 1996 xk8 last year ( all working and no issues. Was in same family for 26 yrs and always garaged . I’ve not used it much ( maybe 50 miles in 12 months due to work . But it now doesn’t start on dash shows message - check engine . I’ve had it plugged into my local garage computer test but due to age fault code can’t be recognised . Does anyone know of a reliable/ reasonably priced jag specialist garage near to Middleton/ Rochdale area . Regards Dave
