  1. Today
  2. Thanks mate, yes it could be possible that is the case, im replacing the washer pump today when the new one arrives, so before I do il pick up a voltage tester and test at multiple points. Aswell as tracking down the earth, thankfully its only the windscreen washer pumps affected and nothing more.
  3. Hi Thomas, I am a believer in the fault likely arises from the last action you took - you removed the washer pump and put it back into place - therefore by my thinking you have likely disturbed some element of the power supply wiring, most likely the earth. But perhaps that's just me being optimistic. Don't spiral to conclusions until you can get a meter onto the pump terminals to confirm you have the correct voltages where they should be. N6 JMX

  5. It’s a long shot but does anyone have the XF RS rear bumper defuser that they are willing to sell? Iv priced one up from my local JLR dealer and I’m not paying £2000 for one and the ones on ali express look like the standard XF S defusers in either primer or carbon fibre finish.
  6. Brilliant thank you.
  7. Hi John Code is probably 1313 Sometimes 0000 or 1111 may work. Good luck John
  8. Hello all, i noticed yesterday that my xf had a leak from the windscreen wash bottle, at this point the washer pumps for the headlights and windscreens were still working. I pulled the arch liner back to access the pump, I could see that it was leaking from the rubber grommet/filter on the pump. I removed the pump from the bottle but kept it plugged in to its power supply, I managed to seal it back up and stop the leak temporarily until the new one arrives. However upon driving my xf today I have noticed neither the washer pump for the windscreens or the pump for the headlights to be working, I have checked the fuse under the bonnet (f6 30a fuse) and its still intact. I dont dare disconnect the battery to check the bcm in the drivers footwell, im hoping its something simple, am I in denial that the bcm has infact been corrupted?
  9. Hello on my X Type estate I would like to connect to my iPhone to the Bluetooth, the phone finds "Jaguar" but it asks me for a code where would I find this please?
  10. Hello my speakers on my X Type estate are not working, the small speakers above the main speakers work but not the 4 in the doors I have checked fuses as per handbook and they are all fine. Any suggestions please
  11. I only have just brought this XK8 convertible is a 2002 with 64000 miles, it is in the garage have some work done to it. One of the things is the remote does not work; we have replaced the Security Module in the boot and now the remote will pair. It will open the Boot and flash the lights but will still not open the or lock the doors. Has anyone got any ideas. Thank you
  12. Last week
  13. Only the gasket rings (2) I think you can just about access them without removing manifold casting. When you have one actuator removed, test it with 12v to check it's function and don't get the loom connectors mixed up between the upper and lower actuator.
  14. Probably not vehicle specific, but best refer to original supplier's website for more information. If it's a towbar mounted version, probably good for most vehicles with a towbar fitted. N6 JMX
  15. Thanks that is spot on
  16. Given JLRs recent hacking problems, it might be more expedient to consult your friendly local independent Jag specialist. Often such specialists will have a stock of good used units on the shelf and will of course be able to fit/program as needed for your car.
  17. Has anyone had difficulty in getting a new abs module? My car is a 2006 XK and I have had an order for a new unit with JLR since May. I keep getting told that it's on back order but nobody seems to have a clue what's going on
  18. Thank you I will it's my only HOPE
  19. I have a bike rack for my FPace which I no longer need. Would this be useable on other cars, Jaguar or even other manufacturers. Thanks
  20. You must be referring to the red button on the lock mechanism itself which is inside. If that button is in the down position then your only hope is to get the key working in the lock. Keep working the key and flushing it out, it does take time.
  21. I cannot get access to the red button because the boot is locked 😫 I have put lots of wd40 in the boot key hole and it feels jammed through lack of use
  22. Not in 2019 ! They assume everyone is using Car Play or Android Auto
  23. If you are referring to the button in the middle of the boot plinth then that is another boot release switch. It is a push button switch. If it looks as though it is stuck in then try to release it with a watchmaker’s screwdriver. With reference to the key lock, how far can you turn the key when inserted. If you’re not able to turn far enough then it won’t unlock. Try WD40 and then working the lock, it may be gunged up through lack of use.
  24. For anyone who is wondering... Beneath the fuel filter is a connector that this blue socket fits into. Oddly in my car (XF X250) although the connector is there, there are no pins to mate with this socket so redundant. I assume some modules fuel filters have an electrical connection to this plug but mine doesn't.
  25. Thank you for your interest Jimbov8 Believe me, I am using the black key only, it will not clear the Valet mode or open the the boot between the hole xk8, I am coming to the conclusion that the fob is not talking to the car, even though I have changed the battery twice and reprogramed both fobs twice The red button in the boot, if someone as pressed it down, I don't know any way into the boot I don't know why the red button is there Thanks Eddie
  26. Cheers John you would have thought it to be standard for a car
  27. Some more info on the keys; The one on the left is the Valet key; on the right is one of the Black 'all function' keys. Not a lot of difference in the photo On the Valet key, the Green head is near enough the same shade as the surround of the Jaguar emblem in the centre. The Black key should be a contrast. If you look at the tip of the Valet key, it's different from the Black keys. The Black keys have a 'collar' cut round the tip which the Valet key doesn't. This shows up in the photo
  28. I have a year 2000 Jag S Type 3ltr V6 Auto. It has the metal gearbox pan, not the plastic all in one filter type. There is a lot of conflicting info about but what fluid should I use to do a filter and fluid change. Is it mineral or synthetic and can anyone give me an idea of where to get it without paying over the top, which Ive also heard is quite common. Thanks in advance for any info you can help with.
