  3. EXPLORE THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE IMMORTALISED JAGUAR ON THE TRACK AND ON THE ROAD FOR OVER 70 YEARS Click the link below and jump back to the past by reviewing the wonderful machines that left the factories over the decades, if only just to remind you of the models when Jaguar built some of the best cars in the world ! https://www.jaguar.co.uk/about-jaguar/jaguar-icons.html Article courtesy of the official Jaguar website https://www.jaguar.co.uk/
  4. My very first love of cars was when i saw a bright red Mk2 with red interior. I was probably six years old and my grandfather told me to stand away from the car as the owner approached. No word of a lie, he was a proper spiv with pinstripe suit and he told my grandfather that it was okay for me to sit behind the wheel. First impressions were the smell of the leather and wood, and then complete awe from seeing all the gauges and switches on the dashboard. That was it, smitten at first sight, then promptly requested a model kit from my grandfather of a bright red Mk2 Jaguar. That's how memories are made!
  5. There is just a possibility that you have programmed the boot lid to not open properly/ fully: try opening the boot to its full height and pressing and holding for 10 seconds the boot close button: if it has been programmed to open to any other point on the cycle, this should reset it.

  7. Jimbov you are an absolute star! the first few mins of the video show exactly what I wanted. It even had a little tip to stop damage to the chrome on the plastic next to it. Thank you I just wasn't sure anyone would answer such a random question never mind such a fabulous accurate close up how to do it. Providing the weather is okay I will change over to a nice new shiny chrome number plate area. It is a new car to me and when I bought it the paintwork on the whole light cluster was a bit rough and really the only item that needed attention. Thanks again Spiderromeo
  8. Welcome to the forum 👍

  10. Hi Jim, most folks sign off with their member name (nom de plume) but your real first name should be visible in the little profile box on the left of each post. N6 JMX
  11. Yes, it's a power lift boot and opens automatically. I have to close it manually.
  12. The first few minutes of this video shows how to remove the number plate lights.
  13. Hi I am new to this, and maybe I am starting this in the wrong place, if I am can someone point me in the right direction. The problem is associated with the rear number plate lights and bezel. When I say bezel it is the complete chrome or painted boot lock, light and boot wide JAGUAR logo. I have just bought a new chrome unit less lights lock initiating button i.e just the chrome plastic molding ( I thought it had a "u" in it but my spell detector says no) any way I want to take the old one of but don't want to break the lenses, They are obviously brittle and I can find lots of places were I can get a screw driver but I don't want to break the lens by doing it wrong. Has anyone done this little job recently and can remember where is the right place and in what direction or to be blunt how do you do it. jim (Spyderromeo) Do I sign off with my real name or my member name? I have an old track day replica spyder 550 Porsche as well
  14. my both kids (5 & 7) love to get to school in a jaag 😄
  15. Send your friend to the Jaguar Classic Parts website and browse there to find his model and all of the relevant parts diagrams. Link here: Xk8 Coupe/convertible 1997 - 2006 (x100) Classic | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts he will need to know his VIN - number in the bottom corner of the windscreen. N6 JMX

  20. How many times have you heard the story of how someone came to be enthralled by Jaguar? Having a lift to school in the back of my friend's dad's Jaguar is a typical soundbite but I don't see any of today's schoolboys wanting a Jaguar in 30 years time because he got a lift in an EV!!!!! Jaguars have soul and that comes as much from the noise it makes to the way it holds you in the seat. N6 JMX
  21. The one I have installed (2013 XF Luxury) is at this link. It works well, and I know others have installed it into XFs too. It is a little fiddly to fit but I would say I was very average at stuff like that and managed it fine. There is a good YouTube installation walkthrough available.
  22. The elimination of Jaguar ICE automobiles can be summed up in one word, tragic.
