  2. Glad to hear you're all up and running again, worthwhile clearing that fault code for the furure - if something else happens and someone plugs in a reader it will show up and probably give a red herring to the diagnosis.

  4. Hello Jim, Thanks for your Bagworld information , I will give them a buzz. Regards richard
  5. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread and add a few pics of the old and new part, together with the fault code that I had on my cheap ODB car scanner app. You could probably do everything with the front wheel off and the wheel liner pushed out of the way. I did take the air box out first but there is no way to get the part out from the top. It did give a me a bit more light to work, especially as the wiring and harness clips were a pain to remove. The fault code cleared by itself after I started the car with the new part.

  7. Is it just the satnav that's inoperative? If yes, then the likely culprit is the disc player in the boot. However, the system is so out of date that it is almost pointless to try and get a repair, unless of course you are seeking to keep originality. There is an option on the 4.2 litre engined cars to have an upgrade to allow Apple CarPlay / Android Auto hooked up, which gives you all of the advantages of phone mirroring, Google Maps, Waze, etc. It's more convoluted in the 5.0 litre engined cars - it can be done, but more complex. Check out systems like Mr 12Volt and Cartronics. Come back here if you need more steer. N6 JMX
  8. I have taken my XK to 3 garages so far, 2 of them Jaguar specialists, to see if they could repair the sat nav or somehow get it working again, but I have had no luck at all. Does anybody know where I could go next to resolve the problem or is there a spare sat nav out there? My understanding is they are no longer made for the XK and so it has to be a complete sat nav/electrical refit.
  9. Check out a company called Bag World, link below. They already have a set for the F-type Coupe so not a big step for the Convertible. Bagworld | Bespoke bags and luggage N6 JMX

  11. A belated thanks for this advice which I have taken, but I wish I could find some reccomended baggage for use in the F type boot. Even my jacket has to go in there when Im driving. Whilst I really enjoy my F for driving, surprisingly the Volvo C 70 is more nimble for town use and ease of access. Obviously need to run them in tandem so no SORN just yet !.
  12. Hi wow 30 years really looking forward to going to shows I do attend lots locally but a couple further afield will now be easy to get to
  13. Hi Symon, welcome to the wonderful world of Jaguar motoring, hopefully you will be able to put up a couple of photos of your Jaguar once you have it on the driveway. You get the XK8 in the anniversary year - its 30 years since the launch of the XK8 Sports Car range, so there will be a number of anniversary celebrations to get along to in 2026. Check out the "Events" tab further down this forum list. N6 JMX
  14. Hi All I have recently purchased but not collected yet an 1998 XK8 Im hoping to do lots of trips and shows Im just use it as my hobby car havint moved on from my 1979 MGB GT Im based in Yorkshire
  15. If it is a 2.0 diesel, I would avoid it unless there is proof that the timing chains / tensioners have been replaced. If you search for 'ingenium diesel engine problems', it will tell you everything you need to know. The Ford / Peugeot 2.2 engine is far less problematic.
  16. There are more images on the add on eBay , item number 157590941800, I thought it would be easy to tell with a side on image but trickier than I thought .
  17. SWB; LWB; I’d say the one in your picture is a SWB.

    LWB ?

Look at similar models for sale on somewhere like AutoTrader and compare the side view photos. Like Dave, I agree it looks like a LWB in the single image you have. N6 JMX
  19. Unless you do lots of mileage over the year, with a high proportion of motorway running, don't buy a diesel engine. N6 JMX
  20. Would you buy a xf 2.2 14 plate, 67k mileage, recent belt and pump or Xf 2ltr 66 plate 80k mileage. Both same price.
  21. Sorry my Mistake. Its a 2litre on a 66 plate. What do you think please?
  22. There shouldn't be any 2 litre engines on a '14' plate XF ? The 2.0 ingenium diesel came out in 2015 on the X260, the 2.2 was only available in the X250 version of the XF.
  23. Get the seller to measure it then and let you know! 😛
  24. It sounds like the cover on the hedlamp washers, should be safe enough to push back on if so but it might be the clip holding it has broken.
  25. Genuine Jaguar XF Saloon 2008 - 2015 Boot Liner Tray. Jaguar Part Number - C2Z5613 This item was only fitted to the car to take the pictures. It is in as new condition as can be seen from the pictures. £100, Collection only please as there is no packaging to send the item. Located near Southport.
  26. I appreciate your opinion, I’m 3 hours traveling distance to view this car, a long way to go with a tape measure 🤔
  27. just below headlights on my 69 reg. fpace there are small rectangular plates which one has 'popped' out'.. any ideas what they are and is it safe (or possible) to push back in
  28. That looks like the LWB to me but others may have different opinions.
  29. Hi all, I’m new here and looking for some advice, I’m looking to purchase the XJ6 and have one in my sights, I do however wish to buy a long wheel base. I have found one that the seller has told me is a LWB but upon running the reg through total car check it comes back as a SWB. I know that the extra length is in the rear doors, I am struggling to tell from the side image that I have. Just wondering if there are any eagle eyed members who could give their opinion please ? regards Matthew
