hi all my names lee just bought my 1st jaguar, its a 2005 x-type 2.5v6 s owned it since october got to admit i cant understand why ive never bought 1 sooner i love everything about it from how it drives to its performance, only thing i dont like is the fuel economy but i guess thats something jag owners get used to, anyway thought i would say hi and maybe see a few at owners club meets and that

Lee,

Welcome to the club , you will find everyone friendly on here .

The X type is a cracking car, I'm sure you will enjoy it . Don't worry about MPG , let others do that for you, and you do get used to it , and it's better than some VW dinky toy run on devil's fuel !

yeah it is a lovely drivers car, think the best mpg ive had was driving manchester to york and it averaged around 25mpg, just saving up now though i really fancy an xf

Hi Lee, I got 53 mpg going to Sheffield a month ago, and on a 220 miles round trip to Leeds last Sunday I got 49.2 mpg out of my 2.7 litre diesel.

You will get the same out of a 3 litre diesel which the put in the XF.

Peter.

Peter,

The XF 3 litre  Portfolio diesel the stealership lent me when the Aston was in it's favourite place, the workshop, was excellent . It was this car that made my mind up I'd get a Jag.

Didn't take any notice of the MPG, but was very impressed with the car in general .

ATB,

Trevor

Evening Lee,

Hope you enjoy the JOC my good man.

25 mpg you say... I usually get something like that going down hill with a back wind haha, or is that pre litre???

cheers for now

Bryn. . .

Hi Lee, and welcome to the club.

I'm new to Jags too, with my own X-Type. I get 49mpg from mine, although it is a diesel!! I deliberately bought a diesel to do my 130 mile a day commute to and from work. I've done over 9,000 miles in it so far since July, and love driving it.

i considered the diesel but when i heard the pur of the 2.5 v6 i was hooked plus i got it for an absolute bargain £1295 on an 05 plate silver with black leather, 118k on clock with a full jag service history and the cars really clean and mark free

Hi lee.....good name, I have a 2.5 v6 x type Indianapolis I used to have a 2.0v6 I must admit I got a shock from my 2.5 v6 but haven't had it long so still getting used to it.....I love jags and am now looking for another one to keep this one company
