Heated front seats

Can anybody tell me if the backrests on the electrically heated front seats should be heated? The cushion on my seats works fine but I am not sure that the backrests work. Maybe I am wearing too thick a coat! Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Paul, 

 

The heating is for the seat squabs only.  I have had three cars with heated front seats and none have the backrests heated.

The backrests in my XJ Supersport and XKR were both heated.

But those cars you had, Trevor, had ALL the bells and whistles.

 

On the S Type SE heated backrests are not even an option.

Hi Paul,

 

I must stand corrected re the seat heating on my S type.  The cushion part of the seats is heated but do not seem to get as hot as the squabs.  The heating itself is an optional extra,and apparently body heat will prevent the heating from working.  I usually wear a jacket in the winter and obviously don't use the seat heating when the weather is warm.  I don't know about the x type even thought I once had one.
