Hi Dave, and welcome to the club.

I would guess than there is either a leak in the tube from the petrol pump to the engine, or a bad connection.

The climate control will suck in the air which is "perfumed" by the atmosphere, whether petrol, fresh air, or fumes from a 'bus,

Is there any "evidence" on the ground, Dave?

If there is only a slight leak you will not notice it if you are moving, nor will you smell it if the air con is not on.

Tried it again today without air con on did around 20 miles and no smell, no leak...nothing...turn air con on and if i remain idle within 10 minutes there is a strong smell of petrol and what seems like a small waterfall of fuel coming from approx.  underneath passenger  sill..its defiantly petrol and not gas (I'm on both) and it only happens when air con is on

Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

A bit curious, but a leak is a leak and has to be check out.

Now you have found where it finishes up checking through the route till you find the offending leaky bit curing it should not be too difficult.

Regards,

Peter.
