hi guys new member. I own a 2008 xf 2,7 diesel,just came back from France over the weekend, whilst driving I noticed the needle on the rev counter was jumping about only whilst accelerating, engine was pulling strong, and smooth. any ideas cheers,

Welcome to the club, Nigel.

 

I have never come across this issue, but I am guessing it could be a poor connection or an iffy fuse.

 

Those with electrical knowledge will also be able to help.

ive had a something like this on a c6 it turned out to be a lose connection on the loom/ electrics at the back of the clocks/dials not 100% sure if yours is going to be the same

Hi, may have found the problem, where the car isn't used very much, water builds up in the bottom of the fuel filter. As recently bought the car, don't know when it was last changed, replaced it now, seems ok. Nigel
