Hi all. Looking for a bit of advice.

The battery warning light has jut come on on my jag. I turned the engine off then back on And the light went off, until I started to drive and then it came back ok. I have just checked my battery and its 75ah and I think I actually need a 80ah. Would this be the reason for the light to come on the dash?

Hi Adam,

I think you have the right diagnosis.  Jaguars like the correct battery. 80ah or 85ah.

Regards,

Peter.

One thing to think of as well Adam. Check your alternator belt is the correct tension. If it's slipping, that will also cause the warning light to come on.

The intermittent nature of your problem would lead me to check that first. Also, check the alternator is giving a good solid 13.8 volts.

Thanks for the advice! Think I will pop to the garage in the morning to get them to test the alternator.

Hahaha! Problem solved. Just gone to check my belt and it isn't there! New one now being fitted
