Hi Peter, Welcome to the club.

There about a third of a million S Types built with about half of them going to the export market.

I don't think that there were any estate versions built at all.

A friend of mine was extremely enamoured of the S Type and bemoaned the fact that he had to buy a BMW Estate to take him and family to France where they have a house. He felt that the S Type was the next best car after the E Type.

I have heard that someone saw a convertible s type in the USA, but I think if must have been an after market conversion.

Regards,

Peter.

there must have been a few built as the photographs show them in different colours black, yellow, grey. what happened to them I wonder. food for thought. at least I have some photographs to show a coach builder so they can build one for me when I win the lottery lol

I think the photographs are quasi concept photos, Peter.

I have had  look at all the statistics surrounding the s type and the figures for each of the various models produced, and there is no mention of variants.

However, a good coach builder could produce one!

Peter.
