I have Jag 2.2 XF my problem is the car has failed to start on three occasion's , on this first occasion the car started when I returned to the car five minutes later, on the second occasion the car failed to start and I called the AA when they arrived the car started I was advised to change the battery which I have , the third occasion again the car failed to start again tried again 3 minutes later and the car started.

Has anyone had similar problem?

Hi Paul, I know this is not jaguar related but my brother had exactly the same problem with a Citroen it turned out to be an airlock in the fuel line, it took a few minutes for it to travel up the line then it would start. It's uncanny just like yourself the time it took for help to arrive it would start, Sometimes it would be fine for days. I hope this might at least give you something to look at.

Welcome to the Club, Paul.

I was thinking along similar lines as Dave.

I have come across this before in a friends Austin Allegro.  It just needed the fuel line disconnected, a quick burst on the starter, and reconnection.

Regards,

Peter.
