The wiper on my X type estate has stopped working.  I can't open the rear window to investigate because the catch to open it doesn't operate the opening motor.  Are these 2 facts connected?  Is it an electrical contact problem?

Hi David

I know absolutely nothing about the X type (Don't know much about my S type either but trying to learn ) have you checked your fuses?

Just a thought that might yield a result

Thanks Steve.

I did have a look at the outside of the fuse box, but found it rather daunting.  I don't know where to start looking!  I'll have a look in the owner's handbook to see if there is a clue there.

Cheers

My son has an 06 X type estate  ---  I will have a look at his when I next see him, but hopefully there will be a member along who does know the x type estate.

Don't let the Fuse box[es] put you off. They ate not very challenging.

Peter.

I got very brave and identified the relevant fuse in the glove compartment fuse box.  Nothing wrong with it.  Bother!

The rear window heater works OK, as does the rear window washer.  The only things that don't work are the wiper and the window opening catch.

Can anyone show me a picture of an X type estate with the back window open?  I would like to see if I can open it manually if I can identify where the opening catch is.

Hi Jon, and welcome to the club.

This is an old post and you are unlikely to get a reply.

Earthing or a fuse are the likely answers.

Regards,

Peter.
