Hello all,

Picking up my new (to me) Jaguar S type SE (2007) tomorrow.

I blame Paul (Raistlin), Hi Paul,  :D  I saw his Jag at the Midlands Nano meets

and have wanted one ever since, for now it will sit alongside my Rover 75.

I will post some pictures when I can.

Regards to all

Dave T

Hi Dave,

Nice choice of car :D

Welcome to JOC mate.

How d'you fancy a Jaguar Nano-meet?

Looking forward to seeing pictures and spec.

Hi David and welcome to THE JAGUAR OWNERS CLUB. Some good knowledge and advice to be had on here feel free if you are stuck

Thanks all,

picked it up today, lovely drive back from Sutton Coldfield

apart from the rain. I find the ride harsher than my Rover 75

probably due to the larger wheels and lower profile tyres.

Browsing the forum found out about pulling fuse 3 in the engine

bay to hopefully stop the smell of fumes.

I'll see you at the Nano in March Paul, perhaps cast your eye

over it and see what you think.

I will try and get some pictures this weekend weather permitting.

Regards

Dave T

Fuse 3? What does that disable?

I get the odd fume here and there, but what is the auxiliary heater? What would I lose?

It's a Webasto coolant auxiliary heater.

The diesel engine is so efficient that it doesn't generate enough heat to bring the coolant rapidly up to the required temperature in cold weather so the Webasto automatically fires up when the engine is started, the ambient temperature is less than five degrees Celsius and the coolant temperature is less than I think, 25 degrees.

It shuts down when the coolant is sufficiently heated.

Dave, if F3 doesn't get rid of your fumes problem then it's likely to be a crack in the flexi joint in one or other of the exhausts.

Sorry, still learning about my car, but is the Webasto a standard fit, or an extra?

OK, thanks.

Thanks Paul, I wasn't sure about the heater, if it still smells I'll be on to the dealer I bought it from. [emoji1]

Hi David,

Which Sutton Coldfield dealer did you get your car from?  I live in Sutton Coldfield!

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Peter,

got it from Bransons Motors, Back Grove farm Estate, Wishaw.

Very pleased with it apart from the smell, I'll take it to my local

garage, if an easy fix I'll get it done, if not, as Arnie says "I'll be back"

Hi David,

I do know the place and once went there to look at a car, but no-one was there.

If you do come up, send me a PM and I will give you my 'phone number.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks Peter, I'll do that.

cheers

Looks great Dave. I hope you're impressed.

Looks as thought there's not much to retro-fit. Have you got the premium sound system?

Yes it's got the premium sound system, headlight washers, movable lumbar support, bluetooth phone and more. In fact I don't think I've found it all yet. Only missing things I've found reading the handbook is adaptive cruise and pedal adjustment.

I am having the exhaust looked at tomorrow to see if the flexi is cracked.

I am very impressed with it, once the smell is gone it will be even better to drive.

My one criticism is no footrest like the Rover.

Regards

Dave T

I'd like to hear a "back to back" difference between the standard and the premium sound Dave. It's one of my intended retrofits.

I bet yours doesn't have auto powerfolds

I'll be bringing it to the Nano Paul, you can have a good look then and compare.

No to the auto powerfolds, but I bet I know a man who does   :D
