Just picked up a 2003 S-Type 3.0 with 114,000 miles in the USA with a few issues.

My concern today is about the stereo.  It does not have the Navigation but does have the CD and phone.

The stereo comes on and tunes in stations but no sound comes from the speakers.

Any ideas?

yes, tried that. I also should mention that the display only lights up about half as bright as the the climate control display.

Hi Bill, and welcome to the club.

The first thing I would do is check the battery.  The s type is quite intolerant when it comes to batteries, which normally last about 5 to 6 years.

You will enjoy your s type and hopefully the Club,

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Bill

i have the same S type, and my bottom LCD panel is also dim, it could be battery related, but i would think that would also affect the top screen as well? its probably just age related (not that i'm saying the older you are the dimmer you get ;) ) do you get sound through the speakers when you get a Phone call? (I am presuming you have Jag Voice or bluetooth available)

PeterW mentioned the Mute button, Volume control?? does your CD player work (give sound)
