Welcome to the Club, Souhrada.

I think you did get a great deal - your Jaguar looks in mint condition.

key fobs can be a pain, but can usually be cured white cheaply by an auto locksmith or an auto electrician.

In the UK there are quite a few mobile auto locksmiths, so you could try googling to se if there are any similar people in the USA.

Regards,

Peter.

Yup, agree that it looks like you got a great deal on a awesome car, with your cheaper gas / petrol prices in the US it makes even more sence to have an STR.

I only had 1 really worn out fob when we got ours. I bought another from eBay for c£15 and paid a local Jag independent £20 to programme it. I then sent the old one off to be refurbished, which cost c£20. I have the MK1 separate key and fob and the key with transponder cost c£60 from a local locksmith. All of this was less than 1/2 the price of what the independent advised and probably a 1/4 of going direct to Jag. So I now have 2 fully working keys for c£100.

IMHO you can hardly blame the STR for key problems, you could have the same issues on a Nissan Micra!
