Hi Tony and welcome to the club.

My s type is a 07 model and i was able to get an up to date [2012] disc quite easily from SatNav updates. I don't know about the pre facelift software, though.

There are several members with press facelift models who should be able to help.

Regards,

Peter.

Correct, Tony  ---   there were several other Peters in the club so being as both my Grandfathers, my father, one son and two grandchildren are all Peters, and there has always been an Old Peter in the family, it seemed appropriate.

Hi Peter

I understand the old now. I thought I was getting on a bit at 75 Plus. I am due a licence renewal in august so I don't want to spend too much before August in case they don't renew.

as far as I know the early cd based sat nav was woeful and too small to be of any use, also, no disc updates are available now.

From what I can recall Tony, the earlier, CD based system was superceded by the Denso DVD based system in 2000 so there will have been no further disk updates from the one you already have.

Thanks for the info, the search goes on. anyone out there changed the cd player for a dvd player and did it work on 1999 dash. If so was it easy.

it seems that the 99 model update CDs stop in about 2002 then go DVD. So  I thought   if I am going to update when required I might as well change the unit to DVD.
