2007 x type help require

My 2007 x type has started making a noise like a vacuum or whizzing at around 2000 revs and doesn't accelerate as it should but the noise isn't there when parked out of gear when revving could anyone help me out as I'm not really car savvy it has only covered 39,000 miles and is services every year thank you

It could be an EGR hose loose sometimes the jubilee clip breaks due to corrosion, or the hose might be split.

i would check your intercooler and turbo pipes to start with

Hi Joe, and welcome to the club.

I assume your x type is a diesel.  

Tom and Gary have pointed you in the right direction, as exactly the same thing happened to my son's x type 2.0D and it was a split turbo  pipe.

Hissing noise and no real acceleration exactly the same.
