So I picked up my new to me X Type 3.0 sport premium over the weekend. Really liking it, smooth, comfortable, plenty quick enough.

However everything seems to work fine apart from the passenger door mirror. It doesn't adjust with the controls & the power fold doesn't work, the drivers side works fine.

Having checked on here & elsewhere I understand there are 3 different types of mirror depending on the spec of the car.

My car has memory seats & power fold mirrors.

Tonight I took a look at the mirror, everything looks ok, no broken wires etc. There's only 3 wires, I also checked the drivers side which also has only 3 wires.

Can anyone give me any guidance on what too look for? There appears to be some sort of control module in the mirror so thinking this may be at fault?

Thanks in advance

Hi David, and welcome to the club.

I had the same problem with my s type with the passenger door mirror not adjusting.  Without taking anything apart, I went for the easiest option of checking if the mirror had come out of its socket.

I just put a finger on each side of the mirror and gently but firmly put enough pressure on and found that it clicked back in quite easily.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Peter

Thanks for the reply, I have checked the mirror & its all attached correctly, its like there is no power getting to the mirror, its all plugged in correctly, I can't hear the motors running when I try adjusting or power folding it.

Swap the mirrors over and see if the fault transfers David.

That will pin the fault to either the mirror or the wiring.
