Can anyone help me with my x type diesel

it starts if spray easy start or deodorant into air filter runs for about 3 mins then will not start again unless u repeat the process

hi

not too sure on diesels, but if it struggling start when cold its usually glow plugs failed, they heat the cylinder chamber up when cold for a set time depending on temperature

once it start does it run ok till you stop it, if engines hot it should start even without glow plugs though

also when was the last time it had a diesel filter changed, if it getting clogged that can make it hard to start also

maybe worth plugging in and seeing if there are any engine management faults code, which will help you find the fault

cheers

Joe

You need to put it on a code reader , could be a number of things, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

P1175 cam control fault
P0251 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Malfunction (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
P0201 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 1
P0202 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 2
P0203 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 3
P0204 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder

this is what come up on code reader

could still be numerous things. p1175 is usaully air fuel mix is not ok. When was it last serviced , it could be air and fuel filters, various sensors, fuel pump, egr valve or even injectors

Can anyone tell me how to code the injectors please

I am not 100% sure but I think there is a tool called a mongoose that is capable of doing this.

if you search google there are videos on it.

tool looks like this and requires laptop. Had a similar thing for my old Mondeo

You will have to speak to someone on here who has one to find out what you have to do.

As a diesel owner, one of the issues the can arise is "dirty" fuel.  Now and then you need to put in an additive that will clean the fuel system

A Terracelan servie for about £120 [10% off if you are a Premium member] cleans out the system, and is much cheaper than replacing expensive parts.

The c headset options are the best to try first.

Peter.

Hi I had the same issue. I only had p0251 code. All I did was change all four injectors and blank off the egr valve now she is running sweet and no black smoke when I boot it

How did u code the injectors please

FuelInjectors
The fuel injectors are operated electrically by the engine control module (ECM) and inject a precise amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the required time.
The injectors have been designed to:
allow pilot and main injections with short intervals between each injection. be fully electrically controlled.
Each injector is calibrated and given its own unique identification number at manufacture. The identification number is a set of letters and numbers located near to the top of the injector.
CAUTION: If any of the high pressure fuel pipe retaining nuts are loosened, the high pressure fuel pipe it is installed to must be renewed. Failure to follow this instruction may allow metal fragments to enter the fuel system and result in damage to the fuel system components.
When the injectors are fitted to an engine, the injector identification number and the cylinder number to which it is installed must be programmed into the ECM. This gives the ECM a base calibration for each cylinder of the engine, as the vehicle is run the ECM will adapt from this calibration. If any of the injectors are replaced the ECM will have to be reprogrammed with all of the injector identification numbers and cylinder number to which each is fitted. hope this has helps.....dave

Hi I know this, what I don't know is how they are coded

as it says reprogram the injectors with all codes using a computer that links up to the ecm.

As I said earlier you need it connected to your laptop with something like a mongoose. You can then read and write the codes using this.

This is an example for a TD5 , your jaguar will use different type of reader and software
