Hi guys. I have an aluminium button, about 3/4" diameter, to the right of the J shift lever. It has a horn motif above it. Any ideas what it's for ?

Hi Joe,

I'll do that tomorrow. 👍

I haven't plucked up the courage to press it yet.

It could be the Mission Impossible self destruct button for all I know!! 😁

Shuggie.

Hi John,

I have just had a look at mine which is an 07 plate, just to check if there was something I had not noticed.

I cam to the conclusion that someone had fitted the button for whatever reason.

It happens sometimes that you will find a switch or button on a car that someone else had put on.  Years ago a friend of mine bought an Austin Westminster [3.0 litre] which was then the flagship car of Austin,  He used to go too Manchester City centre then and wondered why a policeman would always salute and find him a parking space.

He found out a few days later when he flicked a fairly concealed switch and the Blues and Twos came on.  He had bought a car that had belonged to the Chief Constable of Manchester Police who had forgotten to take of the switches and lights behind the Radiator Grill.

Peter.
