Hi All

happy new year.

I am looking for a replacement offside bumper reflector for my 2009 xtype estate, while travelling home in the early hours from work I hit a fox and the reflector popped out and I could not find it, the bumper is not damaged so I went to my local dealership only to be told that the reflector is no longer available as the xtype is now classed as a classic even though it is only 8 years old. The bumper is still available. so if you replace that it has two holes for the reflector which are not.

Can any one please tell me if parts for my model are available from anywhere else, thought about Rimmer Brothers as they do parts for a lot of discontinued cars like Rovers etc.

Have you tried any local scrapyards? Very decent X-Types get written off due to the cost of repairing quite localised damage, and items like this should be available in good condition if they are not on the damaged corners.

Hi Leo

thanks for quick reply have checked local scrapyards they have got xtypes in but not the facelift model from 2008 onwards as the older models did not have the reflectors. have found some on ebay but have to check they are right ones as they say they fit the XJ models and don't know if they are the same size.

Hi Alan,

If all else fails check out eBay. I just did a quick search on 'jaguar x type bumper reflector' and found several that may fit your needs at around £30-35.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Ian

Thanks managed to get one from ebay last week and it fitted fine. Was amazed when looking on line through through the scrapyards "Breakersyard.com" did not get one qoute seems that this model goes on forever.

Regards Alan
