Does the x type estate have one in the boot or do you have to fit one yourself.

Will be parking at airport for 3 weeks and want to plug in a solar trickle charger.

The cigar lighter in front has no power supply when ignition is off.

TIA

Hi Steve, I have a 2008 version of the X Type estate and it has auxiliary socket in boot but mine doesn`t work. Cheers Rod

Hi Rodney,

Where in the boot? Damned if I can see one.

Hi Peter and Steve. Yes it is. In the spare wheel well under the hinged floor panel. Cheers Rod

Never worked. Flat as a pancake. Apparently its better to plug these solar trickle chargers to the obd plug.

So run the cable out under the bonnet and through a door?

How embarassing. Car started first turn of the key for AA man. Said the charger had done its job well. Have no idea why it had not started for me. Think the car was sulking for being left idle for 3 weeks. Fickle things these jags.
