Sluggish up slope on bypass in 5th

Hi

my x type manual diesel 07, pulls fine, until you get to a slope on main road , my fiat 500 goes up no problem,then have to change drops from 70 to 50.

the orange heater coil light is on, seller said it was glow plugs, any ideas please.

Hiya Aubrey 

the glow plugs are only used on start up so irrelevant to normal running,
