Hello all

I have a beautiful XF-s 3.0v6 Diesel which has done 123,600 miles and my Alternator has failed. I have bought a reconditoned unit, but wanted to ask if anyone can answer whether it is easy or difficult to replace?

I've had a look under the bonnet and it looks like it needs to be accessed from underneath.

Has any one done this at home on the ground and able to tell me whether it was easy enough to do it for yourself, or is best I take it to a garage and get them to replace it?

Any advise would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Ken

Having just fitted one myself today. I agree. Get it professionally fitted. It's a nightmare off a job. 8 hours it took me and my mate to do. Never again. Lol. So much to be stripped off to even get to see the alternator
