I have just got a 2011 Jaguar XF Prem Lux and it s a beautiful car. I am getting on with it ok but am struggling to find out how I can "name" my phone rather than just iphone.

There were a load on when I got it which I have deleted. Any ideas, thanks

You need to rename your actual phone I think, then it will automatically name it in your jag.

Good idea, never thought about this. Did it yesterday and worked just fine, great tip, thanks a lot.

With your 2011 model, can you play music through your phone onto your system via Bluetooth? I have a 2010 XF and this isn't possible. There is a port to connect a cable for an old iPod( Which was obviously popular at the time), however, my modern day phone doesn't take these cables and can therefore, not play spotify from my phone on my car stereo.

Have you tried an adapter?

Would this work? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144342187254?hash=item219b76fcf6:g:5L4AAOSwa21hxEyW

You may still be able to, does the 2011 have a 3.5 aux port? If so, can plug in a device that you can play via Bluetooth and take calls for £15 or so, used on a 2004 merc.

If not similar other devices for different ports, not sure can get anything for an old apple ipod port though.

Hi Alan,

Darren is absolutely right. I had the same dilemma (although I do have an old iPod filled with classic rock that I also use!)

Cheers,

Jon

Looks simple enough, can I still use my steering wheel to receive phone calls with this ?

No I dont believe so. You have to press the button on the device to take them, then it uses car speakers and mic on device to chat away. Same with music, cannot switch track only via phone which is not ideal. Volume control on steering still works.
