STOP START BUTTON broken

Featured Replies

I have been reading about other XF-owners who encountered difficulties with the start/stop button that broke and left a kind of white 'hole' where it previously was in the car.    I have the same issue and believe to have found a solution.  It costs ,25$.   Literally.    What you can do, is to take a quarter dollar coin, glue something to it in order to make it stick in the 'white hole' and there you are again.   My XF starts and stops as before.   And the best thing is, that this button cannot break again.  Please see the pictures attached.    Kind and sportive regards, Michael.IMG_1718.HEICIMG_1717.HEICIMG_1716.HEICIMG_1715.HEICIMG_1714.HEIC

I fixed this by removing the damaged start/ stop button (using a YouTube guide to remove the Gear control mechanism centre console, etc) which took some time but was reasonably straightforward..

I then simply reset the detached disc from the inside and secured it with a strip of resin glue giving an invisible mend, and reinstalled the Gear control mechanism when the repair was fully set.
