S Type 2006 2.7 deisel wiring diagarm.

Recommended Posts

Hi  I posted last month (26th. I think) seeking a wiring diagram for my 2006 S TYPE 2.7 Diesel and have not had any contact since.  Can you tell me if there is an active members club for this car so I can appeal more directly.   Mike 07479 463570    tigerbay50@outlook.com

Many thanks

Hi Jim.

Many many thanks for the swift reply and sorry for my delayed response. I hope that I can get the auto electrician to get the old girl going again. as per the 2.7 2006 Diesel you sent to me.

I also posted last month on 26th. the following.......

Can you tell me if the wiring diagram you sent to me for my 2006 2.7 diesel will be the same as the 4.2 2008 supercharged as copied in here below will be the same.  I guess it will not.... but if that is the case, do you have or know where I could get the wiring diagram for this car.

Thank you for your help and hope you have some good news for me.

Kind Regards

Mike

Thanks Jim. Very helpful to know that.

My 4.2 is supercharged ...  will that also apply to the wiring diagram you sent.

You are very knowledgeable on this subject  and I appreciate your help.  I hope you don't mind if from time to time I may wish to ask your advice.

My current problem on the 4.2 is that it loses its charge within 24 hours.  I have (not me but others as I am a dinosaur) had the alpine amplifier system disconnected as told it seemed it could be a regular fault.... but that did not cure it.

Is this discharging a problem you have encountered before Jim....?

If I am not being to being to demanding, but could you make replies using my email address as tigerbay50@hotmail.com.  This is because I am getting rather confused at using the Jag site and an email trail with replies and queries 'is much easier for me to follow.

Thank you very much

Mike

The most common problem for a drain is the ”alarm chirp sounder”. The internal rechargeable batteries short out over time causing the drain. The other is the little flap in the ignition barrel not closing when the key is removed.

The easiest way to deal with the sounder is to simply disconnect it and then see if the battery is still discharging.

The ignition switch flap will just need a little graphite grease to lubricate it, if indeed it is stuck open.

Very nice Mike, although a bit too far for a day visit. If I come up with anything else I will email you.🤙

Just another thought Jim.

My 2006 2,7 Diesel.....

Reason why it is a non runner.

Driving along suddenly I heard an unusual warning sound.... short sharp beeping and then the car just stopped and went dead.  Transported back to my garage it seemed beyond them to work out the problem even after a diagnostics check and they thought it must be an ECU problem.  However there was seemingly no one who could undertaken the checking of the ECU as the car was too old...????

However the rear brakes had locked and the car was immovable per say.  I had heard on the grapevine that can happen and there is some electronic stuff in the boot which can be identified as the culprit and then `adjusted` to free the wheels where  then the car should start.  Sounds oversimplified but it may well be the case.

Is this something you have come across Jim and may know of the likely `fix`

I would love to get this old girl back on the road as I was very attached to it.

Kind Regards

Mike
